  • Publication number: 20020193726
Abstract: A tampon applicator (1) consists of an insertion sleeve (2) in which a tampon (10) is introduced. Slidingly affixed within the insertion sleeve (2) is an ejection sleeve (4) for ejecting the tampon (10). In the insertion sleeve (2), a medicinal agent, which is present in the form of a pill (9), is disposed in such a way that this pill (9) is ejectable together with the tampon (10) by means of the ejection sleeve (4) through the leading end of the insertion sleeve (2).

  • Patent number: 5676647
Abstract: A tampon applicator including an insertion tube for accepting a tampon and a discharge tube for discharging the tampon. The discharge tube is displaceable in the insertion tube. Placeable upon the end area of the insertion tube on the insertion side is a container containing a therapeutic or prophylactic medicinal substance. This container is sealed off from the insertion tube by means of a foil. Provided in the insertion tube between an accepted tampon and the foil are pivotable flaps having a sharp-edged projection, and which are pivoted during insertion of the tampon by means of the forward movement of the tampon against the foil and which break through the foil with their sharp-edged projection.

  • Patent number: 5555896
Abstract: The intrauterine contraceptive device to be inserted in the uterus comprises a supporting stem (1) having two branches (4) disposed at the front end (3) thereof in the direction of insertion. Each of the branches bears at its free end a permanent closure member (7). The closure members are intended to seal the mouths of the Fallopian tubes into the uterus. Each closure member is made of a soft material and has a substantially spherical or tear-shaped form. Fixed to these closure members is a temporary holding and positioning rod (9) of flexible, resorbable material, e.g., of collagen or polyglycolic acid, in such a way that this holding and positioning rod, together with the supporting stem (1), forms the shape of a T, the positioning ends (10) of the holding and positioning rod (9) being farther apart than the permanent closure members (7). The intrauterine contraceptive device is suitable for use immediately after a pregnancy.

  • Patent number: 4715365
Abstract: The device is to be introduced into the uterus by means of a tube. It comprises two branches linked to the front end of a support rod, which branches spread apart upon expulsion of the support rod from the tube. Each of the branches bears at its free end a soft, pear-shaped terminal member and comprises a comparatively rigid positioning part. The terminal member is secured to a thin, flexible and movable prolongation at the end of the branch.

  • Patent number: 4628924
Abstract: The device, intended for insertion by means of a tube, comprises a supporting part having two branches attached to the front end in such a way that they spring apart when the device is pushed out of the tube into the uterus. At the end of each branch is a spherical occluding member, and at the rearward end of the supporting part is an eye through which a thread is looped. In order to achieve gentle sealing solely of the mouths of the Fallopian tubes, as well as to reduce production costs, the occluding members are of soft material and are flexibly connected to the associated branches, while the supporting part and the branches are made in one piece of a resilient but comparatively stiff material.

  • Patent number: 4612924
Abstract: A support body to be inserted in the uterus is connected to inflatable occluding members intended and adapted solely to seal the mouths of the Fallopian tubes when inflated. Because there is no pressure contact between the device and the walls of the uterus proper, there is no impediment to the flow of menstrual blood nor any risk of harmful effects caused by pressure. The support body comprises a central piece through which an inflation medium can be introduced into the occluding members, which are disposed at the ends of two branches projecting laterally from the central piece. Thus, the device is easy to position accurately within the uterus. The support body is stiff but resiliently deformable and of stable shape.
