  • Patent number: 5139725
Abstract: A process for the manufacture of a crimped polyester yarn obtained from a polyester partially-oriented yarn comprising fabricating a partially-oriented polyester yarn by a high-speed process, cooling the partially-oriented polyester yarn, cold drawing the cooled yarn, and subjecting the cold drawn polyester yarn to a thermal treatment under tensionless conditions or under controlled overfeed conditions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 17, 1989
Date of Patent: August 18, 1992
    Assignee: Rhone-Poulenc Viscosuisse S.A.
    Inventors: Hugo Specker, Paul Schaffner
  • Patent number: 5106685
Abstract: In a process for manufacturing a smooth, dimensionally stable, shrink-resistant polyester filament yarn, the starting product is a polyester POY. The polyester POY (5a) is cold-stretched (5b) in a stretching ratio of 1.8 to 2.5 and then relaxed with an advance of approximately 3 to 10%. The yarn so obtained has an initial modulus of 600 to 1200 cN/tex, a reversibility limit greater than >8 cN/tex, and an extensibility less than <20%. It is used as a high-strength polyester yarn whenever dimensional stability is essential.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: April 21, 1992
    Assignee: Rhone-Poulenc Viscosuisse SA
    Inventor: Hugo Specker
  • Patent number: 4950539
Abstract: A method of producing a smooth, cold-drawn multifilament yarn from a polyester POY comprising cold-drawing of the polyester POY to a draw ratio of at least 1.6 and subsequent hot-relaxing the polyester POY under an over-feed of 10 to 20%, and a polyester yarn produced by this method.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 9, 1988
Date of Patent: August 21, 1990
    Assignee: Viscosuisse SA
    Inventors: Hugo Specker, Paul Schaffner
  • Patent number: 4908269
Abstract: The invention concerns a crimped Polyester-yarn obtained from cold drawn Polyester-POY as well as a process for its manufacture. For this yarn the stress/strain course between 10 and 30% elongation resulting from the stretch test corresponds to a secant modul of 0-100%. Application in the knitting, weaving and warp knitting.
