Abstract: In onse aspect, there is provided a method for the management of Application Server AS-related user data stored in a Home Subscriber Server HSS. In an embodiment, said method comprises a step of: HSS and at least one Application Server AS, referred to as validating AS, exchanging information for the validation of a management request received at the HSS.

Abstract: A method to improve the registration of “Permanently Registered Users” (User1, User2, . . . User500) in an NGN-IMS subsystem. The permanently registered users are coupled to the IMS subsystem via a group device (AGW1, IP-PBX, SIP/H.323 GW) that is registered in the IMS subsystem as a dedicated IMS virtual user by means of its IMPI/IMPU identifier. The HSS/UPSF server is then allowed to download the user profiles in bulk. This results in fewer loads on the IMS and in a shortened start-up time of the group device(s).

Abstract: Method for registering a terminal with an application server being a member of a pool of available application servers in an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, interconnected through a network, for providing services to the terminal, the method comprising: receiving a registration request from the terminal, selecting in accordance with a predefined set of rules comprising at least two rules, an application server for servicing a requested service to the terminal; and registering the terminal with the selected application server.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for determining a data traffic load distribution over a network in an IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, whereby said network comprises a client source node and at least two server destination nodes. The at least two server destination nodes have a different capacity for handling data transmission requests. The method comprises the steps of said client source node sending a request for data transmission over the network to the at least two server destination nodes according to a client-server protocol, each of the at least two server destination nodes transmitting, in response to said request, an indication on the status of its actual capacity, said client source node exploiting the status indications for deciding on load distribution of the data traffic over the server destination nodes.
