  • Patent number: 10391172
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of nanodiamonds as drugs generating free radicals, in particular for treating tumors. The invention is based on generating free radicals on the surface of the nanodiamonds when they are exposed to radiation, for example ionizing radiation. In order to increase the effectiveness of the nanodiamonds, the nanodiamonds can be complexed with a radiosensitizing agent, such as a chemical molecule or an interfering RNA targeting a repairing gene.

  • Publication number: 20150376814
Abstract: A process for producing moulded elements made of diamond of nanometric, submicrometric or micrometric sizes, the process comprising the following steps: a) forming beads of nanometric, submicrometric or micrometric sizes, each bead comprising a diamond nanoparticle embedded in an embedding material, by contacting diamond particles of nanometric sizes with an embedding material; b) introducing a bead into cavities of a sacrificial mould, the cavities forming a replica of the elements to be produced; c) removing the embedding material; d) forming diamond elements in the cavities containing a nanoparticle, by growing diamond from nanoparticles; e) releasing the diamond elements, by partially or totally removing the sacrificial mould.

  • Patent number: 8703250
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a diamond layer having a porous three-dimensional structure, the method being of the type which includes growing the diamond layer from a sacrificial material and gradually decomposing said sacrificial material during growth of the diamond layer, said material including the following steps; 1) provision of a substrate capable of supporting the plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition growth of the diamond layer on at least one of the surfaces of the substrate, the substrate comprising, on said at least one surface thereof, a layer made of a sacrificial material having a porous three-dimensional structure capable of gradually decomposing upon contact with said plasma, the layer of sacrificial material containing diamond grains of nanometric size, and 2) growth by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition of the diamond layer from diamond grains and concomitant and gradual decomposition of the sacrificial material upon contact with said plasma.
