Abstract: Apparatus for depositing a texture on a receiver includes a data source that provides multilevel input tint data values based on a job specification. A lossy compressor produces compressed multilevel tint data values from the multilevel input tint data values. A decompressor produces multilevel decompressed tint data values from the compressed multilevel tint data values. A texture memory receives those values from the decompressor and provides corresponding multilevel texture pixel data values. A print engine deposits at each of a plurality of pixel sites on the receiver an amount of texture-forming material corresponding to the respective multilevel texture pixel data value. A loader loads into the texture memory a texture set including multilevel texture pixel data values for each of a plurality of textures, and each texture in the texture set corresponds to a respective selected range of multilevel decompressed tint data value.

Abstract: A printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) includes a printed circuit board (PCB) with through holes, a supporting member standing on the PCB adjacent to the through holes, and an electronic component mounted on the PCB is provided. The electronic component includes a component body and a plurality of conductive leads. Fixing ends of the conductive leads of the electronic component is received in the though hole and electrically and mechanically fixed to the PCB. The component body of the electronic component is supported by the supporting member.

Abstract: A mechanism is provided for searching a virtual resource in a large scale computing system environment. The virtual resource is deployed on at least one server. Each server is coupled to a sensor and communicates with the sensor. The sensors communicate with each other and consist of a communication network. Each sensor stores an identifier of a virtual resource deployed in a server connected with the sensor and the location information of the sensor itself. The mechanism receives a searching request for a virtual resource by the at least one sensor, the searching request containing an identifier of the virtual resource being searched; forwards the searching request in the communication network of the sensors; and returns a location information of a senor storing the identifier of the virtual resource by the sensor itself.

Abstract: A commutator includes a substantially tubular insulating core, a first slip ring fixed to the core, a plurality of first bars electrically connected to the first slip ring, a second slip ring fixed to the core, and a plurality of second bars electrically connected to the second slip ring. The first bars and the second bars are fixed to the outer surface of the core and are alternately arranged at equally spaced intervals in the circumferential direction of the core. The first slip ring and the second slip ring are arranged on the same side of the first bars and the second bars. The first and second slip rings respectively comprise a contact surface that is substantially perpendicular to the axis of the commutator and is configured for contacting brushes.

Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) glasses and a method for operating the same are provided. The 3D glasses includes a first lens, a second lens, an infrared receiver and a control unit. The infrared receiver receives an infrared signal to output a digital control signal. The control unit is coupled to the infrared receiver. The control unit controls a first state of the first lens and a second state of the second lens according to a first pulse of the digital control signal, where at least one of the first state and the second state is an OFF state.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for an elastic and scalable publish/subscribe scheme. Subscription information is received at a dispatcher node. A plurality of matching nodes is selected in an overlay network to store the subscription information on a computer readable storage medium. Upon receiving an event at a dispatching node, at least one of the matching nodes with the stored subscription information is selected to process the event.

Abstract: A method and system for filtering a candidate document in a candidate document set are provided. The method includes receiving one or more entity word—topic word pairs and identifying one or more entity words of the candidate document and topic words. The method also includes determining whether to add the candidate document into a filtered document set using the entity words and topic words in the given entity word—topic word pairs and the identified entity words and topic words in the candidate document. The method further includes adding the candidate document into a filtered document set in response to determining that the candidate document should be added into the filtered document set.

Abstract: An electronic reader includes a display unit, and a processing unit. The processing unit includes a file retrieving module, a refreshing mode control module, a block setting module, and a display control module. The file retrieving module retrieves one or more shapes or figures, to be displayed for effect, and the content of a new target page when a content updating signal is received. The refreshing mode control module controls the electronic reader to operate in a refreshing mode. The block setting module determines the blocks to be refreshed and the order in which the blocks are to be refreshed. The display control module controls the display unit to firstly update the content of a block with the one or more shapes or figures, and then update with retrieved new content by refreshing the blocks one after another in a predetermined procedural order. A related method is also provided.

The e-paper segmented display module includes a group of first contacts. The first circuit module includes a first substrate, a first control unit, a group of second contacts and a group of third contacts. The first control unit, the second contacts and the third contacts are disposed on the first substrate. The first control unit is electrically connected with the second contacts and the third contacts. The second contacts are electrically connected to the first contacts. The second circuit module includes a second substrate, a second control unit and a group of fourth contacts. The second control unit and the fourth contact group are electrically connected with each other and both are disposed on the second substrate. The fourth contacts are electrically connected to the third contacts.

Abstract: A filter and method of filtering modifies the computation order to accommodate horizontal symmetric filtering, and modifies the source operands while modifying the single instruction multiple data (SIMD) computation, so as to eliminate such heavy overhead of transposing a pixel matrix. Abstract: A method of protecting AT commands during the interaction between the AT command module of a mobile terminal and the serial communication unit of an external device, comprising the steps of: receiving AT command from the serial communication unit to the AT command module at an initial state; putting the AT command module into an ID verification mode, wherein the AT command module receives a username and password from the serial communication unit in turn, and verifies said received username and password; and putting the AT command module into an AT command processing state, when the ID verification is successful. Therefore, it's impossible for an illegal user to take the control of the mobile terminal through AT command.

Abstract: An orthopedic screw system. The screw system comprises an outer member and an inner screw. The outer member has a longitudinal inner channel that defines an interior sidewall and is provided with screw threads on its exterior and interior sidewalls. An inner screw has threads constructed and arranged to engage with those on the interior sidewall, such that the inner screw may be secured within the inner channel. When secured within the inner channel, at least a portion of the length of the inner screw extends beyond the outer member. Methods of installing the orthopedic screw system into osteoporotic or otherwise weakened bone are also disclosed.

Abstract: A current limiting and averaging circuit for driving a peripheral core circuit with a lower limit current value in response to a supply signal, includes a current limiting module, an energy storage module, and a converter module. The current limiting module provides a limited supply signal whose current value is smaller than or equal to an upper limit value according to the supply signal. The energy storage module stores a storage signal according to the limited supply signal when the upper limit value is higher than the lower limit current value and provides a discharge signal according to the storage signal when the upper limit value is lower than the lower limit current value. The converter module provides a driving signal for driving the peripheral core circuit in response to the limited supply signal or the limited supply signal and the discharge signal.

A method of receiving a broadcast signal including a Non-Real-Time (NRT) service, the method comprises receiving a broadcast signal including an NRT content and NRT service guide information, the NRT service guide information including a content fragment, identifying a File Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (FLUTE) session delivering the NRT content from the broadcast signal, detecting a first content identification information from a File Description Table (FDT) of the FLUTE session, and detecting a second content identification information of the content fragment matched with the first content identification information.

Abstract: A control apparatus for controlling an image display includes at least one reference object for generating a predetermined spectrum signal; a modulation unit for modulating the predetermined spectrum signal with a predetermined method; and a remote controller. The remote controller includes an image sensor for receiving the modulated predetermined spectrum signal and generating a digital signal; and a processing unit for receiving the digital signal, demodulating the digital signal so as to generate a digital image which only contains the image of the reference object, and calculating an image variation of the image of the reference object formed on the digital image, wherein the remote controller controls the image display according to the image variation thereby eliminating the interference from a light source which generates a light band overlapping the band of the predetermined spectrum signal. The present invention also provides a control method for controlling an image display.

The electronic device further includes a printed circuit board fixed to the base, at least one switch and a resilient plate. The at least one switch is arranged on the printed circuit board, each corresponding to one of the at least one receiving hole. The resilient plate cantilevered on the printed circuit board, and includes at least one suspended end abutting against the inner surface of the cover and being under the receiving hole. When being pressed, the at least one button moves inward to urge the suspended end to move downward to actuate the switch.
