  • Patent number: 8877220
Abstract: A compressed implant composite for repairing mineralized tissue. The compressed implant composite includes a matrix formed of biopolymeric fibers and a plurality of calcium- and/or silicate-based mineral particles dispersed in the matrix. The matrix constitutes 4 to 80% by weight and the mineral particles constitute 20 to 96% by weight of the composite. The composite is free of soluble collagen and is expandable to a volume 2 to 100 times of its compressed volume (e.g., upon absorption of water). Also disclosed are methods of preparing the above-described composite.

  • Publication number: 20140189977
Abstract: A self-propelled cleaning device includes a chassis with a protrusion, such that a side brush mechanism is proximate to the external periphery of the contour of the chassis, and an elastic element installed between a driving wheel set and the chassis for providing buffer and shock absorption. An interval is formed between the front edge of the chassis and a dust inlet for guiding dust into a dust collecting case in a chassis containing groove, and the containing groove has a first spacer apart from a control unit and a second spacer separating a carrying space from a negative pressure device. The second spacer has a passage interconnecting the containing groove and the carrying space, and the dust collecting case has separated first and second sides.

  • Publication number: 20130345826
Abstract: An implant for the repair of bone and cartilage that includes a cell conductive zone that contains biopolymeric fibers and an osteoconductive zone that contains biopolymeric fibers and calcium-containing mineral particles. The biopolymeric fibers from one zone overlaps with the fibers in the other zone forming a stable physical and mechanical integration of the two zones thus conferring in vivo stability to the implant.

  • Patent number: 7998499
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for preparing a porous bone implant containing a calcium-based mineral. The method includes immersing a porous matrix in an acidic solution containing a calcium-based mineral; removing the matrix from the solution; and exposing the matrix to an alkali to neutralize the acidic solution, thereby causing precipitation of the calcium-based mineral to obtain a porous bone implant containing a calcium-based mineral.
