    Abstract: A system and method for studying and testing the boiling bubble behavior characteristics of mixed working fluids. The system includes a visualization chamber to contain mixed fluids, a heating device to heat the mixed fluids within the visualization chamber to generate boiling bubbles, a gas collection chamber, a constant temperature water bath to cool the boiling bubbles collected by the gas collection chamber to collect boiling bubbles generated in the mixed fluids within the visualization chamber, a third pressure sensor to obtain gas pressure inside the gas collection chamber, a third temperature sensor to obtain temperature of the constant temperature water bath, and a data processing module to determine component concentrations of the boiling bubbles in the mixed fluids based on the gas pressure inside the gas collection chamber and the temperature of the constant temperature water bath.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure are related to systems and methods related to the removal of PFAS molecules. In one aspect, systems comprising a foam fractionation system are generally described. In some embodiments, the foam fractionation system comprises a vessel and/or a bubbler. The vessel, in accordance with certain embodiments, comprises an elongated portion and a body portion comprising a main body portion and a taper portion. The bubbler is configured to receive a gas input and inject bubbles into an interior volume of the vessel. An input liquid solution comprising one or more per- and/or polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) molecules and a surfactant enters the foam fractionation system. The input liquid solution is treated by the foam fractionation system such that some or all of the PFAS molecules are separated into a foamate output. In some embodiments, a liquid output exiting the foam fractionation system comprises a relatively low amount, if any, of the PFAS molecules.

    Abstract: Imprinted substrates are often used to produce miniaturized devices for use in electrical, optic and biochemical applications. Imprinting techniques, such as nanoimprinting lithography, may leave residues in the surface of substrates that affect bonding and decrease the quality of the produced devices. An imprinted substrate with residue-free region, or regions with a reduced amount of residue for improved bonding quality is introduced. Methods to produce imprinted substrates without residues from the imprinting process are also introduced. Methods include physical exclusion methods, selective etching methods and energy application methods. These methods may produce residue-free regions in the surface of the substrate that can be used to produce higher strength bonding.
