  • Patent number: 7788498
Abstract: Triple-tap password entry is described. In an embodiment, a password is received as a sequence of characters that are each entered as one or more keypad inputs, such as with a television remote control. The keypad inputs for each of the characters are displayed as the sequence of characters are received, and a character of the password is obscured after the character has been received such that the characters are consecutively obscured to conceal the password. A character of the password can be obscured when a subsequent character is received, or when a time duration of the character display meets and/or exceeds a time limit.

  • Publication number: 20100089755
Abstract: A technical measure for gel electrophoresis shaping that can make the gel electrophoresis generate no bubbles including in the gel, and can make a gradient gel being more accurate and more stable in quality. When liquid gel enters a collecting trough under continuous driving of a roller in the collecting trough to be injected into a carrier sheet set from a gel output port and a narrow seam, former injected liquid gel can be pushed upwards by latter injected liquid gel, and an accomplished product of gel can be obtained. If the collecting trough is input with two liquid basic materials, the liquid gel continuously output into the carrier sheet set can have a gradient.

  • Patent number: 6929732
Abstract: An electrophoresis separator of which a receiving tank used for placing therein carriers has slots on the two sides thereof, one side of each carrier has a notch matching with a corresponding slot; so that when the carrier is inserted in the receiving tank, a blocking piece provided at the bottom of the receiving tank covers the bottom of the carrier and the crevice between the notch and the receiving tank; and a blocking sheet is inserted into the slot and notch. The blocking sheet can be removed from the slot and notch after the gel in the carrier is fixed and shaped, then the gel can contact the electric conducting liquid in the electrophoresis tank through the slot and notch; the other end of the gel body will contact the electric conducting liquid through an upper opening of the carrier directly. When electrodes are activated, electric current floating is resulted to cause an effect of molecule separation and analysis for the sample in the gel.

  • Patent number: 6768194
Abstract: An apparatus for electroplating a metal overlay on a substrate having a seed layer deposited on all surfaces. The apparatus includes a cell for containing and circulating an electrolyte and an annular sealing fixture having a “J” shaped cross section for supporting a peripheral front surface of the substrate. A multiplicity of compliant electrode fingers are inwardly mounted with a downward tilt angle. The compliant fingers make conductive cathodic contact with the seed layer at the peripheral edge of the substrate. A pressure is applied to the back surface of the substrate effecting a wiping action between the compliant fingers and the peripheral edge. A counter electrode is placed towards the bottom of the cell and is circuitous arranged for passing current between the counter electrode and compliant electrode fingers. A pump circulates the electrolyte against the front surface of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6592734
Abstract: A semi-dry electroblotter for transferring a gel after its electrophoresis onto a membrane enabling the electro-blotting process to be efficiently and effectively carried out within a short time, eliminating the shortcomings of the traditional technology, includes an upper block, and a corresponding lower block. A respective positioning member is disposed on each of the lateral sides of the upper block and the lower block, such that the upper block and the lower block will be coupled automatically when they are closed in a correct guiding position. An elastic member and an electrode plate are separately disposed in the interior of the upper block and the lower block, and the elastic member supports the electrode plate so that the electrode plate is biased in a clamping direction.

  • Patent number: 5903744
Abstract: A hardware-based emulator is partitioned onto two boards. An emulation board has field-programmable gate array (FPGA) chips mounted on a top surface, and connection posts protruding through to the bottom surface. The I/O pins of the FPGA chips that carry emulated signals are connected to the connection posts but not directly to other FPGA chips on the emulation board. An interconnection board has a grid of wire-wrap posts. The tops of the wire wrap-posts mate with the connection posts when the emulation board is plugged in to the interconnection board. The wire-wrap posts extend through the interconnection board and out the bottom surface. Interconnection is made by wire-wrap wires wound around the wire-wrap posts. Thus interconnection between FPGA chips on the emulation board is made by wire-wrap on the interconnection board, while the logic gates are emulated in the FPGA chips on the separate emulation board.

  • Patent number: 4914022
Abstract: A flexible, efficient and rapid method is shown whereby many different tissues samples may be stained or reacted and examined simultaneously, on one standard glass slide. This method is based on the preparation of "cores" of paraffin embedded tissue from standard sources of tissue such as histology blocks. The paraffin embedded tissue cores are inserted into a casing cut from an ordinary drinking straw, or similar holding device, mounted in a paraffin block and sectioned.
