  • Publication number: 20110107211
Abstract: Data selection and display methods and systems are provided. First, data including a plurality of characters/symbols is displayed in a touch-sensitive display unit. A contact corresponding to an input tool on the touch-sensitive display unit is detected. According to the contact position on the touch-sensitive display unit, a plurality of candidate characters/symbols is determined from the characters/symbols, and a specific position where the candidate characters/symbols to be displayed in the touch-sensitive display unit is re-determined. Then, the candidate characters/symbols are displayed at the specific position in the touch-sensitive display unit.

  • Publication number: 20110054650
Abstract: Methods and systems for application procedure management are provided. First, an event is received, wherein the event defines a normal procedure and a specific procedure. In response to the event, a sensor is activated to detect a presence of at least one object. If the presence of the object is not detected, the normal procedure for the event is performed. If the presence of the object is detected, the specific procedure for the event is performed. In some embodiments, the executed specific procedure includes inactivating a display unit.

  • Publication number: 20110053581
Abstract: A method of adjusting an event prompt degree and a mobile electronic device and a computer program product using the same are provided. In the present method, whether at least two detection regions of the mobile electronic device simultaneously detect a touch when the mobile electronic device executes a vibration prompt corresponding to an event is determined, wherein the detection regions are independent of each other. A vibration intensity of the vibration prompt is reduced when the detection regions simultaneously detect the touch. Thereby, continuous vibration prompt is prevented from bothering other people.

  • Publication number: 20090167714
Abstract: A method of operating a handheld electronic device and a touch interface apparatus and a storage medium using the same are provided. In this method, an operating interface displayed on a touch screen of the handheld electronic device is used to operate a function module of the handheld electronic device. First, the function module of the handheld electronic device is activated to display a user interface corresponding to the function module on the touch screen. Next, an operating function of the function module is activated, so as to display a corresponding operating interface on the touch screen. In the meantime, the user interface of the function module is reduced simultaneously and displayed on an area of the touch screen excluding the operating interface. Accordingly, a convenient operating interface is provided for the user to operate while the content of original displayed frame remains.

  • Publication number: 20090167716
Abstract: A method for switching a touch keyboard and a handheld electronic device and a storage medium using the method are provided. The method is suitable for a handheld electronic device having a touch screen. In the method, a character input function is first activated to display a first type touch keyboard on a side of the touch screen. A touch signal produced within a display area of the first type touch keyboard is then received and it is determined whether the touch signal moves to another side of the touch screen. If the touch signal is determined to move to the another side of the touch screen, a second type touch keyboard is displayed on the another side of the touch screen. Accordingly, the users can switch the touch keyboard to another one conveniently so as to input characters.

  • Publication number: 20090167737
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for dynamically adjusting a viewing angle of a screen are provided. The method is suitable for dynamically adjusting a viewing range of a screen of a handheld electronic device, wherein the viewing angle of the screen is adjustable. The method is as follows. First, a shifting value of a target deviating from the viewing range of the screen is detected by a sensor. Next, the viewing range of the screen is dynamically adjusted according to the shifting value, so as to cover the target within the viewing range of the screen. Accordingly, the snooping for the content of a frame displayed on the screen by others can be prevented and a user can view the frame displayed on the screen more conveniently.

  • Publication number: 20090166099
Abstract: An unlocking method with a touch sensor is provided. The method is adapted to a portable device having a touch sensor, wherein the portable device is at a lock state. The method is as follows. First, a signal generated by an input device is received by the touch sensor. Next, a movement of the touch sensor triggered by the input device is sensed. Next, the signal is identified to determine whether or not the input device is an effective unlock device. Finally, when the input device is the effective unlock device and the movement is an effective movement, the lock state of the portable device is switched to an unlock state.
