  • Publication number: 20240147363
Abstract: A method of a low power listening mode includes announcing, by a first wireless device is operating in a low power listening mode. The first wireless device in the low power listening mode receives an initial frame having a single spatial stream and a low data rate from a second wireless device. The frame requests a frame exchange with the first wireless device. The low data rate is lower than a maximum data rate of the first wireless device. A reply to the initial frame is transmitted to the second wireless device in a single spatial stream with the low data rate. The reply acknowledges an association with the second wireless device. The first wireless device wakes from the low power listening mode to a full capacity mode, and performs a frame exchange with the second wireless device in the full capacity mode.

  • Publication number: 20240107604
Abstract: Embodiments of a method and apparatus for wireless communications are disclosed. In an embodiment, a wireless device includes a wireless transceiver configured to receive a first frame from a first wireless access point (AP) for multi-AP coordination that is not associated with the wireless device and a second frame from a second wireless AP for multi-AP coordination that is associated with the wireless device and a controller configured to set a network allocation vector (NAV) timer of the wireless device to a non-zero value in response to the first frame and the second frame. The wireless transceiver is further configured to transmit a physical protocol data unit (PPDU) to the second wireless AP even if the NAV timer of the wireless device is non-zero.

  • Publication number: 20240098790
Abstract: A wireless access point for latency-based contention may comprise a processing device and a transceiver. The processing device may be configured to monitor a media idle time using a media idle time counter, wherein the media idle time is measured from a last transition from a clear channel assessment (CCA) busy indication to a CCA idle indication. The processing device may be configured to identify a frame at a contention queue head. The processing device may be configured to determine a back-off counter when the frame arrives at the contention queue head. The processing device may be configured to push the frame for transmission when the back-off counter is less than or equal to the media idle time counter. The transceiver may be configured to transmit the frame.
