The division operation apparatus includes a memory, a non-zero bit detection circuit, a mapping calculation circuit, a look-up circuit, a compensation circuit and a multiplication circuit. The memory stores a divisor look-up table including a plurality of entries. The non-zero bit detection circuit detects a number of a highest non-zero bit of the divisor. The mapping calculation circuit generates a mapped value of the divisor within a range of the divisor look-up table according to a mapping function. The look-up circuit retrieves a corresponding entry having a stored reciprocal according to the mapped value. The compensation circuit generates a compensation value according to the mapping function. The multiplication circuit multiplies a dividend, the stored reciprocal and the compensation value to generate a divided result of the dividend and the divisor.

The image sensing apparatus calculates a block statistics value corresponding to a block of pixels in an image sensor array. Based on a look-up table, the image sensing apparatus determines a covariance value corresponding to a current gain value. According to the covariance value and the block statistics value, the image sensing apparatus corrects a color-correction matrix corresponding to the block of pixels. The image sensing apparatus can use an amended color-correction matrix to correct the color of the pixel, so as to reduce chroma noise or other noise.

    Abstract: The invention provides a video processing apparatus. In one embodiment, the video processing apparatus includes a decoder, a detector, and a motion estimation and motion compensation (MEMC) module. The decoder decodes video data to generate a series of video frames with time stamps. The detector detects discontinuity of the video frames to generate discontinuity information. The MEMC module selects a previous frame prior to the discontinuity and a subsequent frame after the discontinuity from the video frames according to the discontinuity information, performs a motion estimation process to determine at least one motion, performs a motion compensation process according to the motion vector to synthesize an interpolated frame from the previous frame and the subsequent frame, and inserts the interpolated frame into the video frames to obtain a series of compensated frames.
