  • Publication number: 20240073800
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a network entity may operate using multiple operation modes, where different operation modes are associated with different energy consumption. A network entity may provide one or more user equipment (UE) with a set of operation modes, and each operation mode of the set of operation modes may be selectable for communications between the one or more UEs and the network entity for associated time intervals. The network entity and one or more UEs may communicate using a first operation mode, and the network entity may provide an indication of a second operation mode (e.g., a lower power mode). Based on the indication of the second operation mode, the one or more UEs and the network entity may communicate according to the second operation mode for the time interval associated with the second operation mode.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a first dormancy indication and a second dormancy indication. The UE may communicate in a wireless network based at least in part on associating the first dormancy indication with a first dormancy state of a first network entity in the wireless network and associating the second dormancy indication with a second dormancy state of a second network entity in the wireless network. Numerous other aspects are described.

  • Publication number: 20240072978
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may use a mapping to update channel state information (CSI) reporting granularity based on an antenna port configuration update. For example, the UE may store a mapping from different antenna port configurations to respective sub-band sizes for CSI reporting. In some examples, a network entity may configure the UE with the mapping. In some other examples, the UE may be pre-configured with the mapping. If the UE receives control signaling, such as downlink control information (DCI) signaling, indicating an antenna port configuration update at the network entity, the UE may use the mapping to determine a corresponding update to sub-band size granularity for CSI reporting. The UE may use the determined sub-band size for performing CSI measurements on reference signals and reporting the CSI measurements in a CSI report to the network entity.

  • Publication number: 20240073819
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a network entity may use a lower power sleep procedure to reduce power consumption, and monitor for a wake-up signal (WUS) from at least one user equipment (UE) during configured WUS occasions. The WUS from one or more UEs may provide information of one or more attributes of data traffic that is present at a transmit buffer of the one or more UEs. A WUS configuration may be provided from a network entity that allows the selection of a particular WUS to indicate one or more attributes of the data traffic at the UE. The WUS may convey information such as buffer status, power headroom, a priority of traffic, latency targets of the traffic, or any combinations thereof. The WUS may also give an indication of a requested duration of an active mode at the network entity.

  • Patent number: 11917689
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to random access procedures. In one example, a UE initiates a random access procedure with a base station, and receives a random access response (RAR) message from the base station in response to the initiating of the random access procedure. The UE further determines a redundancy version (RV) pattern comprising a sequence of a plurality of RVs. The UE also transmits an uplink (UL) communication to the base station as part of the random access procedure. The UL communication comprises a plurality of repetitions of a UL message, each repetition being an iteration of the UL message that is configured by applying a respective RV of the plurality of RVs to the UL message based on the sequence. The UE further receives a downlink message from the base station based on the UL message. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

  • Patent number: 11916716
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to techniques for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction based on a tone reservation (TR) algorithm. For a TR algorithm, a suitable subset of tones from among a full set of tones in a given resource allocation are reserved for use as peak reduction tones (PRT). An apparatus such as a transmission/reception point receives a set of one or more PRT sequences and stores them in memory. The transmission/reception point then determines a set of PRTs based on one or more later-received PRT sequence selection parameters. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

  • Patent number: 11910371
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may allow a base station and user equipment (UE) to be in agreement on spatial quasi co-location (QCL) assumptions for transmission in certain scenarios. The techniques may be used, for example, to determine QCL assumptions for downlink transmissions sent in an initial control resource set (CORESET) on an initial downlink bandwidth part (BWP) where dedicated signaling of such assumptions may be lacking. In some cases, the techniques may involve a UE determining a beam to use for monitoring for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission on the initial CORESET in the initial downlink BWP that lacks dedicated signaling of QCL information and monitoring for the PDCCH on the initial CORESET in the initial BWP using the determined beam. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.
