    Abstract: A dual-view display device and a display method thereof are disclosed. The dual-view display device includes a backlight module, an optical film, a liquid crystal display panel, and a main control unit. The backlight module includes a light guide plate, a left light source, and a right light source. The optical film is disposed in front of the backlight module. The liquid crystal display panel is disposed in front of the optical film. The main control unit is electrically coupled to the left light source, the right light source, and the liquid crystal display panel. The main control unit transmits an image data to the liquid crystal display panel and controls the left and right light sources according to the image data, so as to control the liquid crystal display panel adaptively to display an identical image, one view image, or dual-view images.

In the display method, firstly, the display area is divided into a plurality of unit areas. A plurality of pixels exist in each of the unit areas. Then, in some unit areas, at least two pixels in each of the unit areas are enabled to respectively display a first color and a second color, such that the first colors and the second colors are mixed to achieve a mixed color in vision. The first color has a maximum gray-level value. The second color has a minimum gray-level value. A gray-level value of the mixed color is between the maximum gray-level value and the minimum gray-level value.

    Abstract: A light source driving circuit including a driving module, a plurality of first switches, a detecting unit, and a control unit is provided. The plurality of first switches is respectively coupled to corresponding light sources and these light sources are driven by the driving module. The detecting unit is coupled to the driving module to detect a working parameter of each light source and transmit the working parameter to the control unit. When the detecting unit detects some of these light sources are broken down, the control unit sequentially turns on the first switches to find out the failed light source. Moreover, the first switch coupled to the failed light source is remained on, and the driving signal is regulated according to the number of the failed light source, such that the brightness of the panel does not decrease.

The switch circuit controls the paths through which the data driving signals are transmitted to the sub-data lines. The pixel array includes a plurality of first and second pixel units. The present invention utilizes the data analyzer to analyze a gray level distribution of video data, and then the gain processor selects a gain value. The operator unit converts an original gamma voltage produced by the original gamma voltage generator into an actual gamma voltage according to the gain value. Therefore, the present invention adaptively adjusts the gamma voltage according to the gray level distribution of the video data for increasing display quality.

The electrophoretic display device comprises a frame buffer, a lookup table, a controller and an electrophoretic display panel. The frame buffer stores a first display frame data. The controller accesses a transition data of transforming the first display frame data to a second display frame data according to the lookup table, for outputting a control data. The electrophoretic display panel displays the second display frame data according to the control data. Therefore, the position the charged particle in a pixel to be moved to during the erasing step can be adjusted by utilizing the lookup table, consequently reducing the time required to update the pixel.

    Abstract: An EPD device includes a plurality of pixels, wherein a first pixel is written by a first grey level, a second pixel is written by a second grey level. When the EPD device refreshes the displayed frame, the first pixel and the second pixel are erased individually. After erasing of the second pixel is completed, a fourth grey level is written to the second pixel immediately. Thus, each pixel is written by their next grey levels immediately after the erasing step so the writing time is reduced and the motion blur of the EPD device when refreshing the displayed frame can be improved.
