  • Publication number: 20240427389
Abstract: Examples herein relate to ambient noise level detection. For instance, in some examples an electronic device includes a cooling resource and a processor resource to alter an operational speed of the cooling resource from an initial operational speed to a first altered operational speed, detect an ambient noise level, compare the ambient noise level to a first noise threshold, and restrict the operational speed of the cooling resource to be less than the initial operational speed.

  • Publication number: 20230380042
Abstract: In an example, an electronic device may include a battery, a charging port to receive electrical power from an external power source to charge the battery, a light source disposed proximate to the charging port, a sensor to monitor a parameter related to an operational environment of the electronic device, and a processor to activate the light source based on the monitored parameter.

  • Publication number: 20220284088
Abstract: Examples of computing devices for authenticating a write request to a controller of a computing device are described herein, in an example, a computing device may include a controller having a first authentication key and a firmware having a copy of the first authentication key. The copy of the first authentication key being editable. The controller may randomly generate a second authentication key. Using the first authentication key and the second authentication key, the controller may compute a first hash value. The firmware may compute a second hash value using the copy of the first authentication key and the second authentication key. When the controller receives a write request, the controller may compare the first hash value and the second hash value and allow the write request upon successful comparison.

  • Publication number: 20220113979
Abstract: The present subject matter relates to techniques for storing POST codes in electronic tags. In an example, a POST code corresponding to each test of a Power ON Self-Test (POST) process may be stored in a Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) chip of a motherboard. The POST code may be indicative of a status of a respective test of the POST process. The POST code corresponding to each test of the POST process is simultaneously stored in a memory of an electronic tag. The electronic tag may be communicatively coupled to the motherboard and the CMOS chip. The POST codes are retrievable from the memory of the electronic tag by an end user of the computing device when the motherboard is powered OFF.
