Patent number: 6473306Abstract: A retainer device (1) for fastening a heat sink (2) to a printed circuit board module (3). The heat sink comprises a base plate (22) and a plurality of upwardly extending fins (24). The retainer device comprises an operation lever (14), a fastening frame (12), and a backing plate (16) attached to a bottom surface of the module. Clasp hooks (162) of the backing plate hold the fastening frame in place. The fastening frame has pairs of pivot openings (129), cam plates (128), and cutouts (130). The operation lever includes an operational body (142), a pair of arms (144), a pair of U-shaped urging portions (146), and a pair of pivot axles (148) passing through the pivot openings. The operational body is rotated to make the urging portions pass around the cam plates into the cutouts. The heat sink is thereby pressed tightly against the printed circuit board module.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2001Date of Patent: October 29, 2002Assignee: Hon Hai Precision Ind. Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshitsugu Koseki, Hung-Ji Yu

Patent number: 6036504Abstract: A pair of board-to-board connectors (10, 30) including a receptacle connector (10) and a plug connector (30). The receptacle connector (10) includes an insulative first housing (12) having a plurality of first passageways (14) for receiving a corresponding number of first contacts (16) therein, respectively. Each first contact (16) is of a resilient bellow type and the distal end (22) thereof abuts against the butting wall (26) of the housing (12) for pre-loading consideration, thus controlling the contact gap for mating. The plug connector (30) includes an insulative second housing (32) having a plurality of second passageways (34) for receiving a corresponding number of second contacts (36) therein, respectively. Each second contact (36) is of a stiff stick type and the distal end (42) thereof abuts against the side wall (44) of the housing (32) for confronting the mated corresponding first contact (16).Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 1996Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Hon Hai Precision Ind. Patent number: 5967845Abstract: A card connector assembly consisting of two stacked connectors for providing prevention of noise, each includes an interface housing connected with a guiding frame having a grounding plate connected thereto. A first conductive plate and a second conductive plate are respectively engaged with an upper periphery of the guiding frame of the upper connector and a lower periphery of the guiding frame of the lower connector. The first conductive plate and the second conductive plate are engaged in order to prevent noise from acting on an electrical card received in the card connector.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 1997Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Assignee: Hon Hai Precision Ind. Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yu-Ming Ho, Hung-Ji Yu

Patent number: 5967812Abstract: A card connector apparatus includes a header connector having a housing mounted with a number of contacts for engaging with a card inserted into the apparatus, and an ejector for ejecting an inserted card. The ejector consists of a shielding shell fixed to the housing and defining a central guiding pin, a hole and a stop wall between the pin and the hole. A lever has a force exerting end, a force receiving tongue connecting with a push bar, a protrusion extending into the hole and a ridge between the protrusion and the force exerting end. An actuator has a central tab extending through the force exerting end to slidably engage with the pin and two side tabs for engaging with two lateral sides of an inserted card. When the ejector is actuated to eject a card fully inserted into the apparatus by pushing the push bar to pivot the lever, the lever first pivots about a contact point between the stop wall and the ridge so that the card can be ejected with a reduced required force.Type: GrantFiled: April 20, 1998Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Assignee: Hon Hai Precision Ind. Co., Ltd.Inventors: Shun-Chi Tung, Hung-Ji Yu

Patent number: 5962835Abstract: A board adapter for electrically connecting an electrical card connector to a mother board, comprises 68 signal holes, 100 conductive pads, a plurality of signal traces, a first grounding means, a transforming unit and a second grounding contact. The first grounding contact surrounds the signal holes and is electrically connected with a corresponding grounding contact of the electrical connector, for providing the signal holes and the electrical connector with grounding protection. The second grounding contact is alternately juxtaposed with every two of the signal traces for providing grounding protection. The conductive pads are electrically connected with either the signal traces or the grounding contacts. The transforming unit includes two power traces to separately bear two different strength voltage induced currents. When either of the traces bears a corresponding voltage induced current, the other trace can be transformed into a grounding trace to protect the bearing trace.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 1997Date of Patent: October 5, 1999Assignee: Hon Hai Precision Ind.
