  • Patent number: 12287176
Abstract: A device implementable on a firearm includes a plate with a first primary side and a second primary side opposite the first primary side. When installed with the first primary side facing the firearm or an accessory of the firearm: (i) the first primary side is directly mounted on a portion of the firearm or the accessory, and (ii) the second primary side accommodates and mates with a first optic when the first optic is mounted on the second primary side of the plate. When installed with the second primary side facing the firearm or the accessory of the firearm: (i) the second primary side is directly mounted on the portion of the firearm or the accessory, and (ii) the first primary side accommodates and mates with a second optic different from the first optic when the second optic is mounted on the first primary side of the plate.

  • Publication number: 20250111171
Abstract: Techniques are described for translating computer game chat to a different language for a partner gamer. If the chat is determined to be related to a game being played as opposed to social chat, a glossary may be used tailored to that game to first determine if a spoken term is in the glossary. If it is, a lookup of an equivalent term from the glossary can be used instead of passing the term through a translation engine, increasing accuracy and saving translation time.

  • Publication number: 20250113049
Abstract: Techniques are described for training a machine learning (ML) model to determine, e.g., based on bit rate capacity, whether to encode a frame of video or not. If a frame is dropped according to output of the ML model, the next frame may be encoded at a higher quality than normal using the computing savings gained from dropping the first frame. Compressed domain information may be used to eliminate portions of a frame, but not the complete frame, from encoding.

  • Publication number: 20250108292
Abstract: Techniques are described for over-training a ML model on multiple gameplay videos of individual scenes of a computer game to better configure the model to reconstruct or enhance portions of the computer game at a receiver as the computer game is received over a streamlining network. Reconstruction of individual missing slices of a frame is contemplated such that a frame missing a slice need not be entirely discarded.

  • Publication number: 20250113040
Abstract: Techniques are described for identifying a switching point at which to switch resolutions of a video during streaming due to changing network bitrates. First quality metrics at plural bitrates are determined between selected videos and respective output videos derived from compressing and decompressing the respective selected videos. Also, second quality metrics at plural bitrates are determined between the respective selected videos and upscaled videos generated by upscaling the output video. Using the first and second quality metrics and bitrates, the switching point to change resolution during streaming is identified.

  • Publication number: 20250108291
Abstract: Techniques are described for reducing latency in networked gaming by reducing I-frame sizes (which also results in automatically increasing P-frame sizes) to reduce the overall amount of video being transmitted. The reduced size of the I-frames is compensated for by increasing the size of other frames using a low pass filter (LPF) such as a Gaussian filter which reduces sharpness that the decoder can try to recover, or by use of lower resolution. The I-frame can be reduced by rotating it or flipping/mirroring it to produce the smaller coded frame, sending a flag to signal the orientation.

  • Patent number: 12259212
Abstract: A device implementable on a firearm includes a firearm grip configured to be held or gripped by a user of the firearm. The firearm grip includes a grip body and a grip insert. The grip body has a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The first end can mate with a surface of the firearm when the firearm grip is installed on the firearm. The second end has a void that can receive and accommodate the grip insert therein. The grip insert includes a first lock and a second lock. When in a first position, the first lock locks the grip insert in the void of the grip body. When in a second position, the first lock unlocks the grip insert such that the grip insert is removable from the grip body. The second lock is configured to lock the first lock in the first position.

  • Publication number: 20240305790
Abstract: A technique to determine an optimum number of reserved bits for use in video encoding. The bits per coding unit is calculated as a function of bitrate, frame rate and frame size. Then for each coding unit, N reserved bits candidates are selected. For each test video the number of packets per frame is identified and the average number of packets per frame is calculated. The best reserved bits candidate out of the N reserved bits candidates is identified, and then a best fitted linear model between best reserved bits candidate and bits per coding unit is determined.

  • Patent number: 11546610
Abstract: Video stream data is selectively scaled so that sections within regions of interest (ROI) maintain high resolution while areas not within the region of interest are down-scaled to reduce bandwidth cost of transmission. A low compression encoder compresses sections of a video frame corresponding to one or more ROI without motion search or prediction mode decision to generate low-compression section data. The video frame is downscaled and a high compression encoder compresses the resulting downscaled video frame with prediction mode decision to generate high-compression frame data.

  • Patent number: 11509896
Abstract: A derived quantization parameter for a section of a currently encoding picture of a plurality of pictures is incremented to produce an updated quantization parameter when the derived quantization parameter is less than a minimum quantization parameter for the currently encoding picture. The section is then encoded using the updated quantization parameter. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
