Abstract: Structures with doping free connections and methods of fabrication are provided. An exemplary structure includes a substrate; a first region of a first conductivity type formed in the substrate; an overlying layer located over the substrate; a well region of a second conductivity type formed in the overlying layer; a conductive plug laterally adjacent to the well region and extending through the overlying layer to electrically contact with the first region; and a passivation layer located between the conductive plug and the well region.

Abstract: A layout pattern for magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM) includes a substrate having a first active region, a second active region, and a word line connecting region between the first active region and the second active region, a first gate pattern extending along a first direction from the first active region to the second active region, a second gate pattern extending along the first direction from the first active region to the second active region, a first magnetic tunneling junction (MTJ) between the first gate pattern and the second pattern and within the word line connecting region, and a second MTJ between the first gate pattern and the second gate pattern in the first active region. Preferably, top surfaces of the first MTJ and the second MTJ are coplanar.

Abstract: Disclosed is a headphone including a headband and two ear cups connected to opposite ends of the headband. Each of the ear cups includes a shell, a front cover, and a light sensor. The shell has an open end. The front cover covers the open end of the shell. The front cover is in a basin form and has a peripheral sidewall and a bottom wall. The light sensor is located on the peripheral sidewall of the front cover. The light sensor includes a light-emitting unit and a light detection unit. When a user wears the headphone, light emitted by the light-emitting unit irradiates a flat portion of a back surface of an ear of the user.

Abstract: A method for browsing and replaying a selected picture by a multimedia player is disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing a display and an controlling interface, showing a plurality of subpictures corresponding to a plurality of fullscale pictures containing said selected picture on the display, selecting one of the subpictures corresponding to the selected picture by the controlling interface, and showing the selected picture on the display.

Abstract: An audio compact disc title with a high density format adapted to be used in a compact disc player is disclosed. The audio compact disc title includes a plurality of tracks, each of the tracks has a plurality of audio sectors for storing audio data, wherein the audio data are divided into a plurality of audio signals alternately stored in the audio sectors, and a compact disc identifying code for representing the relatively high density format of the audio compact disc title for the compact disc player. A method for recording audio data in an audio compact disc title with a high density format is also disclosed. The method includes steps of dividing the audio data into a plurality of audio signals, rearranging the plurality of audio signals to space any two continuous audio signals by other audio signals, and recording the rearranged audio signals in the audio compact disc title.

Abstract: A scoring device for an karaoke system is provided. The scoring device includes a first detector for the original singer, a second detector for the karaoke singer, and a processor. The first detector is provided to detect the volume of the original singer's singing voice. The second detector is provided to detect the volume of the karaoke singer's singing voice. The processor is provided to compare the volumes of the original singer's singing voice and the karaoke singer's singing voice, and provides a score for the karaoke singer's singing voice based on the compared results.

Abstract: A method is provided for use on an OSD-based (On-Screen Display) video display system, such as a VCD system, a super VCD system, or a DVD system, for the purpose of enhancing the resolution of cursor movement on the display screen of the video 5 display system. This method can help achieve the cursor movement resolution enhancement simply through software modifications without having to modify or add extra hardware to the existing video display system. By this method, the OSD blocks are partitioned into an array of subblocks, one subblock representing one resolution unit for the cursor movement. A number of predesigned sets of fragmented cursor patterns are provided and prestored in the display memory of the video display system. A corresponding set of fragmented cursor patterns can be retrieved for display in specified OSD blocks in response to a particular movement of the cursor over the display screen.

Abstract: A computerized advertisement broadcasting system that employs the technical conventions lay down by the motion picture expert group (MPEG). The system comprises a console and separable data memory cards, where the advertising program is stored within the data memory card in an MPEG compressed data stream format. The advertising program can be broadcast repetitively by the console Since the advertising program is stored digitally within a data memory card, programs can be changed simply by inserting a new data memory card. Furthermore, the system is assembled from a group of electronic devices.

Abstract: An adapting apparatus used in a computer ISA extension slot allows add-on-cards to be inserted into or pulled off without the need of turning off the power. The adapting apparatus includes an ISA terminal for connection to the ISA slot, an extension ISA slot for receiving an add-on-card, a signal-line switch for controlling connection/disconnection of a plurality of signal lines between the computer ISA extension slot and the add-on-card, a power-line switch for controlling connection/disconnection of a plurality of power lines between the ISA extension slot and the add-on-card, an overload protection device, and a control circuit for controlling the signal-line switch and the power-line switch.
