Abstract: A method for browsing and replaying a selected picture by a multimedia player is disclosed. The method includes the steps of providing a display and an controlling interface, showing a plurality of subpictures corresponding to a plurality of fullscale pictures containing said selected picture on the display, selecting one of the subpictures corresponding to the selected picture by the controlling interface, and showing the selected picture on the display.

Abstract: An audio compact disc title with a high density format adapted to be used in a compact disc player is disclosed. The audio compact disc title includes a plurality of tracks, each of the tracks has a plurality of audio sectors for storing audio data, wherein the audio data are divided into a plurality of audio signals alternately stored in the audio sectors, and a compact disc identifying code for representing the relatively high density format of the audio compact disc title for the compact disc player. A method for recording audio data in an audio compact disc title with a high density format is also disclosed. The method includes steps of dividing the audio data into a plurality of audio signals, rearranging the plurality of audio signals to space any two continuous audio signals by other audio signals, and recording the rearranged audio signals in the audio compact disc title.

Abstract: A scoring device for an karaoke system is provided. The scoring device includes a first detector for the original singer, a second detector for the karaoke singer, and a processor. The first detector is provided to detect the volume of the original singer's singing voice. The second detector is provided to detect the volume of the karaoke singer's singing voice. The processor is provided to compare the volumes of the original singer's singing voice and the karaoke singer's singing voice, and provides a score for the karaoke singer's singing voice based on the compared results.

Abstract: A method is provided for use on an OSD-based (On-Screen Display) video display system, such as a VCD system, a super VCD system, or a DVD system, for the purpose of enhancing the resolution of cursor movement on the display screen of the video 5 display system. This method can help achieve the cursor movement resolution enhancement simply through software modifications without having to modify or add extra hardware to the existing video display system. By this method, the OSD blocks are partitioned into an array of subblocks, one subblock representing one resolution unit for the cursor movement. A number of predesigned sets of fragmented cursor patterns are provided and prestored in the display memory of the video display system. A corresponding set of fragmented cursor patterns can be retrieved for display in specified OSD blocks in response to a particular movement of the cursor over the display screen.

The system comprises a console and separable data memory cards, where the advertising program is stored within the data memory card in an MPEG compressed data stream format. The advertising program can be broadcast repetitively by the console Since the advertising program is stored digitally within a data memory card, programs can be changed simply by inserting a new data memory card. Furthermore, the system is assembled from a group of electronic devices.
