  • Publication number: 20070101748
Abstract: A refrigeration system for multi-temperature and single-temperature applications combines a refrigeration circuit and a single-phase fluid heat-transfer circuit in heat-conducting contact through a thermoelectric device. A vapor compression cycle provides a first stage of cooling and the thermoelectric device in conjunction with the heat-transfer circuit provides the second stage of cooling. Polarity of the thermoelectric device can be reversed to provide a defrost function for the refrigeration system.

  • Publication number: 20070101737
Abstract: A vapor-compression circuit may be used to meet the temperature/load demands for conditioning one or more spaces. Excess heat generated in the vapor-compression circuit may be utilized to generate an electric current that may power other components of the vapor-compression circuit. A thermoelectric device may be placed in heat-transferring contact with the excess heat and generate the electrical current. The electric current generated may be used to power another thermoelectric device to provide further cooling or heating of a fluid in heat-transferring relation therewith to supplement the vapor-compression circuit and the conditioning of the space.

  • Patent number: 7012794
Abstract: An analog transfer gate that can be connected to an external line of a chip that is also connected to a digital circuit. The transfer gate includes both NMOS and PMOS transistors for passing the analog signals in both directions. A voltage sensing circuit is connected to the external line and is configured to sense a voltage that is higher than the supply voltage of the analog circuit. When this occurs, it produces a sense output signal. The sense output signal activates a protection enabling circuit that turns off the PMOS and NMOS transistors. In addition, at least one additional protection transistor is activated to avoid too high of a voltage being applied across any of the transistor junctions.
