  • Patent number: 8852420
Abstract: A calibration method, including steps of: providing a test meter having a socket provided with a set of conductive pins; providing a biosensor test strip having a set of strip electrodes corresponding to the set of conductive pins, wherein the combination of lengths of the strip electrodes corresponds to a parameter code; inserting the biosensor test strip into the socket of the test meter so that each of the conductive pins and each of the corresponding strip electrode have a relative motion; reading out the parameter code by using a set of pulse widths detected by each of the conductive pins in the insertion period; and calibrating the test meter by using the parameter code to match a calibration parameter installed in the test meter.

  • Publication number: 20060209656
Abstract: A method for determining a write type of a disc includes determining whether the disc is a recordable disc or a re-writeable disc, determining whether a lead-in area of the disc comprises a program memory area or not when the disc is a recordable disc or a re-writeable disc, identifying formats of the last two blocks of a track in a closed session of the disc when the lead-in area of the disc comprises the program memory area, and determining the write type of the disc according to the formats of the last two blocks.

  • Publication number: 20060150177
Abstract: An update method for firmware in an electronic device. A function of firmware update determination is verified for an electronic device. If the electronic device provides the firmware update determination function, an update program is sent thereto. The electronic device receives the update program for the firmware and determines if the firmware requires updating according to the update program. The electronic device updates the firmware using the update program if the firmware is determined to require updating.

  • Publication number: 20060041716
Abstract: A method of write frequency management for writing recorded data to an optical rewritable storage medium. The optical rewritable storage medium comprises a data area and a count area. The data area comprises multiple data units, the count area comprises multiple values, and each value represents a write frequency corresponding to one of the data units. The method receives a data write instruction comprising a write address range and the recorded data, writes the recorded data to the data units corresponding to the write address range, and updates the values corresponding to the write address range.

  • Publication number: 20050219968
Abstract: A method for controlling disk-tray ejection in an optical disk apparatus is provided. The optical disk apparatus includes a control unit and a tray that supports a disk. The method includes the steps of: (a) determining the diameter value of the disk; (b) driving the tray by the control unit with a first driving force to process the disk ejection procedure if the diameter value is a first length; and (c) driving the tray by the control unit with a second driving force to process the disk ejection procedure if the diameter is not the first length.
