  • Publication number: 20080117377
Abstract: An exemplary liquid crystal display (2) includes a liquid crystal display panel (20) defining a display area and a non-display. The liquid crystal display panel includes a first substrate (21), a second substrate (23), a sealing member (25) located at peripheral sides of the non-display area of the second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer (27). The first substrate includes first protrusions (214) located at the non-display area adjacent to the sealing member. The second substrate includes second protrusions (234) located at the non-display area adjacent to the sealing member. The first protrusions protrude toward the second substrate and the second protrusions protrude toward the first substrate. The first protrusions are alternately arranged relative to the second protrusions.

  • Patent number: 7290917
Abstract: A light guide plate (32) for a backlight module includes a light incident surface (321), a bottom surface (323), and a plurality of light guide elements (320) disposed therein. Each light guide element has a light refractive surface (324) opposite to the light incident surface. An angle between the light refractive surface and the bottom surface is an acute angle. A refractive index of each light guide element is different from that of adjacent light guide elements. The reflectivity index of the light guide element and the angle can be selected and arranged so that most if not all the light beams are emitted from the light output surface. Thereby, the light guide plate is highly efficient in the utilization of light beams.

  • Publication number: 20070236633
Abstract: A color filter (3) includes a substrate (30); a black matrix (31) deposited on the substrate, defining a plurality of apertures therein; a color layer (32) filled in the apertures of the black matrix; an antireflective layer (33) deposited on the black matrix; and a transparent conductive layer (34) covering the color layer and the antireflective layer.

  • Publication number: 20060197902
Abstract: A liquid crystal display substrate (100) includes a base portion (110), an alignment layer (118) provided on the base portion, and a peripheral sealant adhering structure (114) provided on the base portion at a periphery of the alignment layer. The sealant adhering structure includes a filler layer. Because the alignment layer and the filler layer are exactly or at least substantially flush, when the alignment layer is rubbed, few if any abnormities occur at peripheral edge portions of the alignment layer that are adjacent an inmost extremity of the filler layer. In particular, few if any so-called stripes are formed at the peripheral edge portions of the alignment layer. Therefore, the quality of the LCD substrate and of a display of the LCD are improved.
