    Abstract: A laser light source includes a laser light source module, a light converging module, first and second lens sets, a color wheel, and a light tunnel. The laser light source module emits a first light. When passing the light converging module, the first light converges in a second direction perpendicular to the travel direction of the first light and does not converge in a third direction perpendicular to the second direction and the travel direction. The first light becomes a parallel beam after passing the light converging module. Then, the first light enters the first lens set. The color wheel receives the first light passing the first lens set, partially transforms the first light into a second light, and partially reflects the first light. Then, the first and second light pass the first and second lens sets. Then, the light tunnel collects the first and second light.

    Abstract: A polarization converter for use in a projector apparatus is provided. The polarization converter includes a polarizing beam splitter, a half wavelength retarder and a quarter wavelength retarder. The polarizing beam splitter could split a first light into a first light beam with a first polarized direction and a second light beam with a second polarized direction. The half wavelength retarder is disposed on the side of the polarizing beam splitter and the second light beam is converted into the second light beam with the first polarized direction by the half wavelength retarder. The first and second light beams with the first polarized direction are coupled to form a first polarized light with the first polarized direction. The quarter wavelength retarder is disposed behind the half wavelength retarder so that the first polarized light is converted into a first circularly polarized light.

    Abstract: A polarization converting element group for a projection apparatus is disclosed. The polarization converting element group includes a polarization beam splitter and a half wave plate. The polarization beam splitter splits a light beam into a first polarized light beam with a first polarization direction and a second polarized light beam with a second polarization direction. The half wave plate is placed next to the polarization beam splitter and reciprocally moves between the first and second position. At different time points, the half wave plate changes the polarization direction of the first light beam or the second light beam passing therethrough. With this arrangement, the light beam that exits the polarization converting element group will either be a uniform first polarized light with a first polarization direction or a uniform second polarized light with a second polarization direction.
