    Abstract: A switching regulator having a low start-up voltage includes a power stage and a switch control circuit. The switch control circuit includes a power control switch. The power control switch is formed by a low threshold voltage transistor having a first conductivity type in a semiconductor substrate. The low threshold voltage transistor having the first conductivity type includes a first lightly doped region having a second conductivity type which forms a channel region of the low threshold voltage transistor having the first conductivity type. The semiconductor substrate includes a second lightly doped region having the second conductivity type which is formed by a same manufacturing process as the first lightly doped region having the second conductivity type. The second lightly doped region having the second conductivity type forms adrift region of a high-voltage transistor having the second conductivity type in the semiconductor substrate.

In the first state, the first end of an inductor is connected to input voltage and the second end of the inductor is connected to output voltage; in the second state, the first end is connected to ground and the second end is connected to output voltage; and in the third state, the first end is connected to input voltage and the second end is connected to ground.

The present invention controls the buck power switch to be OFF by a constant OFF time in the buck conversion mode, and controls the boost power switch to be ON by a constant ON time in the boost conversion mode. An offset signal ensures that the buck-boost regulator operates only in pure buck conversion mode and pure boost conversion mode, but does not need to operate in a buck-boost conversion mode.

The switching regulator includes a boost or buck-boost power stage, a first operation circuit and a bypass circuit. The power stage controls at least one power transistor switch included therein according to a first operation signal, to convert an input voltage to an output voltage at an output terminal. The first operation circuit generates the first operation signal in response to the output voltage or a related signal thereof. The bypass circuit includes a bypass transistor and a second operation circuit. When it is required to provide power to the output terminal promptly, the second operation circuit turns ON the bypass transistor, and when the input voltage is equal to the output voltage or equal to a sum of the output voltage plus a safety offset value, the second operation circuit turns OFF the bypass transistor.

    Abstract: A ring binder mechanism for retaining loose-leaf pages securely holds closed ring members together to prevent inadvertent loss of pages retained by the mechanism. The mechanism comprises a housing supporting two hinge plates for pivoting motion to open and close paired ring members mounted on the plates. Free ends of the paired ring members have interlocking configurations that securely join together when the ring members close. The configurations prevent misalignment of the closed ring members in all directions transverse to longitudinal centerlines of the ring members. The mechanism also includes locking elements that interact with the hinge plates to block their pivoting motion when the ring members are closed. This holds the free ends of the closed paired ring members together so that the interlocking configurations of the ring members remain interengaged.

The first ring member is mounted one of the hinge plates and moveable with the hinge plate relative to the second ring member between closed and open positions. An actuating lever for opening the rings is mounted on a pin secured to the housing. Pivoting of the actuator moves a travel bar relative to the hinge plates. A blocking element is secured to the travel bar for conjoint movement therewith between a locking position in which the blocking element blocks pivoting movement of the hinge plates to open the rings and a non-locking position in which the blocking element does not block pivoting movement of the hinge plates to open the rings. A torsion spring on the pin biases the actuating lever to its closed position.
