Publication number: 20150059272Abstract: The wood siding system has air circulation gaps between overlapping siding boards and between the siding boards and a supporting wall. The wood siding system has the appearance of old-fashion clapboards; a limited flexibility that closely imitates a solid wall, and metal retainers with installation gauge, and lips and ridges to control the direction of shrinkage and swelling of the wood boards to preserve the visual appeal of the wood siding. A wood grain pattern on the front surface of each siding board is a mirror image of a wood grain pattern on the front surface of another siding board.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 20, 2014Publication date: March 5, 2015Inventor: Balthasar Husler

Publication number: 20140215944Abstract: The wood deck is made of deck boards and deck board connectors. Each deck board has a lip extending along each side thereof. A pair of wings, a riser and the sole plate of a board connector define a pair of oppositely facing board receiving slots for receiving the lips of a pair of adjacent deck boards. Each deck board is preferably made of torrefied wood. The deck board connectors have bosses on their riser for maintaining a desired spacing between deck boards. Each deck board connector has drainage channels in its sole plate, on each side of the riser for draining any moisture that may seep between deck boards. Each deck board connector also has aeration gaps under its sole plate for drying any moisture that may seep beneath the boards. The wood deck is thereby less susceptible of retaining moisture under or between the deck boards.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 30, 2014Publication date: August 7, 2014Applicant: C.B.H Wood Products Ltd.Inventor: Balthasar Husler

Patent number: 7470388Abstract: The method enables the series production of light structural components out of long-fiber thermoplastic material (LFT) with integrated continuous fiber (CF)-reinforcements in a single stage LFT-pressing step. In this, CF-tapes (5) are melted open and transferred into a profile tool (21) of a CF-profile forming station (20), there are pressed for a short time period and shaped into the required CF-profile (10). In doing so, by means of contact with the thermally conditioned profile tool (21) on the profile surface (11) a shock-cooled, dimensionally stable, thin casing layer (12) is formed and the inside of the CF-profile remains melted. Following a defined short shock-cooling period (ts), the CF-profile (10) is transferred into an LFT-tool (31) and pressed together with an introduced molten LFT-mass (6). In doing so, the casing layer (12) is melted open again on the surface (11) and is thermoplastically bonded together with the surrounding LFT-mass.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2003Date of Patent: December 30, 2008Assignee: Weber Technology AGInventors: Daniel Hüsler, Andreas Rüegg

Publication number: 20080261046Abstract: The invention makes possible the one-step production of molded bodies (1) of different types out of thermoplastic material with or without reinforcing fibers. For this purpose, a tool with a lower and an upper shell mold (10a, 10b), which form defined surfaces on both sides, is utilized. The shell molds have thin walls and are made out of metal and comprise a centered portion on both shell molds, a displacement compensating, air-tight edge seal (16) and tempering means (13) for the controlled heating and cooling on both shell molds. For production, thermoplastic material (2) with reinforcing fibers (3) is inserted into the shell molds in a locally defined manner, the shell molds are subsequently evacuated (p1) and in doing so pressed together (ds), then heated up to above the melting point and maintained at a temperature (Ts) for the consolidation and flowing of the thermoplastic material under pressure (dp).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2005Publication date: October 23, 2008Applicant: PLASTXFORM AGInventor: Daniel Husler
