    Abstract: Procedures, methods, architectures, apparatuses, systems, devices, and computer program products related to a Wireless Transmit-Receive Unit (WTRU) operating in a network, for supporting paging using an Ultra-Low Power (ULP) receiver, are disclosed. A WTRU may receive a ULP-specific configuration, and may activate the ULP receiver, and inactivate the Uu receiver, when support of ULP paging operation, by the network, is determined. The ULP receiver may detect a Low-Power Wake-Up Signal (LP-WUS) and may activate the Uu receiver and perform PDCCH monitoring. Under condition that the WTRU detects, in the channel monitoring, its identifier in a paging message received via the Uu receiver, the WTRU initiates a connection establishment or a connection resume procedure.

    Abstract: A folded dipole patch antenna for use in a hyperthermia applicator is described. The antenna includes a dielectric circuit board, and a folded dipole microstrip antenna. The dielectric circuit board has a top side and a bottom side. The folded dipole microstrip antenna is formed on the top side and includes two meander paths mirror each other. A pair of parallel metallic strips is located on the bottom side. A coaxial feed port is connected to the pair of parallel metallic strips. The antenna is configured to resonate in a frequency range of about 434 MHz upon application of an input signal at the coaxial feed port. The folded dipole patch antenna has a small size and does not require an impedance matching circuit. The hyperthermia applicator is configured to emit microwave energy toward a target tissue within a human body.

    Abstract: A reconfigurable, dual-band, MIMO antenna apparatus, a planar MIMO antenna system utilizing the antenna apparatus, and a method of transmitting and receiving a signal by the antenna apparatus are provided. The apparatus includes a dielectric planar substrate, a first element, a second element, two varactor diodes per element, and a microstrip feed-line. The first element and the second element each have slotted concentric annular rings. The second element is separated on the dielectric planar substrate from the first element, but is coplanar on the dielectric planar substrate with the first element. The two varactor diodes are placed in series with biasing circuitry, the biasing circuitry including RF chokes and current-limiting resistors. The microstrip feed-line feeds both antenna elements. The dual-band antenna elements can each be independently and concurrently tunable to two signal frequencies bands.

    Abstract: A frequency reconfigurable (FR) slot-based UHF antenna for use in Cube-Sat is described. The antenna includes a dielectric circuit board, a metallic layer, a meandered slot line formed in the metallic layer, a feed horn is connected to a first edge of the circuit board, a reverse biased varactor diode, a ground terminal connected to the metallic layer and a biasing circuit configured to bias the reverse biased varactor diode. The biasing circuit causes the antenna to resonate in a frequency range of 300 MHz to 450 MHz. The meandered slot line includes a heptagonal path connected to and enclosing a rectangular path. An open end of the feed horn is directed towards the apex of the heptagonal path. The reverse biased varactor diode is connected to the metallic layer across the rectangular path and parallel to a central axis.
