  • Publication number: 20200045341
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing an effective electro-optical transfer function for limited luminance range displays are disclosed. A processor detects a request to generate pixel data for display. The processor also receives an indication of an effective luminance range of a target display. The processor encodes pixel data of an image or video frame into a format which matches the effective luminance range of the target display. In one implementation, the processor receives encoded pixel data in a first format, wherein the first format has unused output pixel values which map to luminance values outside of the effective luminance range of the target display. The processor converts the encoded pixel data from the first format into encoded pixel data of a second format which matches the effective luminance range of the target display. A decoder then decodes the encoded pixel data and drives the decoded pixel data to the target display.

  • Patent number: 10554350
Abstract: A communication management resource associated with a wireless access point in a network environment allocates use of a wireless channel and sub-channels over time to multiple communication devices in communication with the wireless access point. For example, during use, from a first communication device of the multiple communication devices competing for wireless bandwidth, the communication management resource receives a request for allocation of wireless bandwidth to communicate over a wireless communication link with the wireless access point. Subsequent to receiving the request, the communication management resource identifies an appropriate amount of wireless bandwidth suitable to satisfy the request for bandwidth from the first communication device.

  • Publication number: 20200032767
Abstract: A convective power generation device is described based on thermal convection and thermal input energy. The energy generation device operates by heating wax and oil by heat from a solar concentrator or geothermal energy; as the weight of the wax becomes liquid that is lighter than the oil, the liquid wax moves up through a pathway; when the liquid wax reaches the top of the pathway, the cooler wax falls towards collecting cups mounted to a continuous belt and forces the belt downward to rotate the belt; when a collector cup of wax reaches the bottom of belt rotation, the wax falls to a reservoir; and the rotation of the belt drives a gearbox, which drives a generator to produce electric power. The convective power generation device has been shown to have higher energy conversion efficiency than photovoltaics.

  • Patent number: 10546154
Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for layered masking of data are described. A system receives content including personally identifiable information (PII). The system redacts the content by masking the PII. The system identifies the PII in multi-layer processing, where in each layer, the system determines a respective confidence score indicating a probability that a token is PII. If the confidence score is sufficiently high, the system masks the token. Otherwise, the system provides the token to a next layer for processing. The layers can include regular expression based processing, lookup table based processing, and machine learning based processing.
