    Abstract: A sidetracking method includes lowering a sidetrack assembly to a target zone of a wellbore comprising a casing. The sidetrack assembly comprising a cutting tool coupled to a wellbore string and a whipstock releasably coupled to the cutting tool. The method includes setting the whipstock on a wall of the wellbore, pulling the wellbore string, decoupling the cutting tool from the whipstock, actuating the cutter, cutting along a cut profile of the casing to cut free a portion of the casing at the target zone, actuating the mechanical fasteners, fastening the portion of the casing to the cutting tool, pulling the wellbore string, detaching the portion of the casing from the wall of the wellbore, drilling, with a directional drill string a sidetrack wellbore extending from the window to a downhole location of the sidetrack wellbore, and removing the whipstock from the wellbore.

    Abstract: A bottomhole assembly for performing a sidetracking operation in a casing of a wellbore. A fluid intensifier is configured to receive fluid and configured to increase a pressure of the fluid. A fluid jetting nozzle is associated with a body of the bottomhole assembly. A fluid jetting nozzle is fluidly coupled to the fluid intensifier and is configured to receive pressurized fluid from the fluid intensifier. A fluid jetting nozzle is configured to cut a window into the casing via the pressurized fluid. A side arm is movable between a closed position wherein the side arm is retracted and a guiding position wherein the side arm is extended. The side arm is configured to contact the casing in the guiding position to guide the body within the casing. A hook is configured to couple to the cut window and remove the cut window from the casing.

    Abstract: A method includes deploying a bottom hole assembly downhole into a wellbore lined with a casing. While the bottom hole assembly is deployed downhole, the bottom hole assembly is used to: place a guiding profile within the wellbore casing, wherein the guiding profile is structured to physically guide a downhole drill in a direction different from that of a longitudinal axis of the casing; cut a window in the casing with a laser cutter; and withdraw at least one cut portion of the casing away from the window. A related bottom hole assembly includes: a laser cutter for cutting a window in a wellbore casing; a withdrawal mechanism for withdrawing at least one cut portion of the casing away from the cut window; and a releasable guiding profile structured to physically guide a downhole drill in a direction away from the wellbore casing.

    Abstract: A reamer drill bit includes a body having an outer surface defining a plurality of grooves, and a cutter arm with an interior surface. Each groove extends from a first end of the body to a second end of the body and has at least one groove recess, at least one groove peak connected by a sloped section, and a track arranged in the sloped section. The cutter arm is slidably attached to the body, is configured to expand radially away from the body, and is configured to slide longitudinally relative to the body along the track. The interior surface of the cutter arm includes at least one arm valley, and at least one arm protrusion. The at least one groove recess receives the at least one arm protrusion and the at least one arm valley receives the at least one groove peak.

The various main cutters may be configured to move in an outward direction upon receiving a predetermined pressure. The drill bit device may include various pre-charged cutters disposed immediately behind the various main cutters inside the cutter housing. The various pre-charged cutters may be configured to move in the outward direction upon receiving the predetermined pressure. The drill bit device may include a gate that connects the cutter housing to an internal groove that may be directly connected to a port switch that may allow release of the predetermined pressure through the internal groove and into the gate.
