  • Publication number: 20060025975
Abstract: Method intended for real-time modelling, by neural networks, of hydrodynamic characteristics of multiphase flows in transient phase in pipes. In order to specifically take account of the possible flow regimes of fluids in pipes, various neural or “expert” models are formed for several flow regimes (or subregimes) in the whole of the variation range of the hydrodynamic characteristics of the flows (preferably for each one of them), as well as a neural model estimating the probability of belonging of the flows to each flow regime or subregime, knowing some of the characteristics thereof. The probabilities obtained are used for weighting the estimations delivered by each neural model, the result of the weighted sum being then the estimation eventually retained. Applications to various industries and notably for modelling of hydrocarbon flows in pipelines.

  • Publication number: 20040162735
Abstract: A system and method for integrating multi-part documentation in a networked environment are provided. A port agent processing system obtains incoming shipment information and obtains a declaration identification number corresponding to each shipment from a central document processing system. The port agent processing system generates a short form declaration for the shipment corresponding to the declaration identification number. Thereafter, the central document processing system utilizes the declaration identification number to obtain additional shipment information and generate a supplemental declaration corresponding to the same shipment.

  • Publication number: 20020193976
Abstract: Method and device for neutralizing, by controlled gas injection, the formation of liquid slugs at the foot of a pipe portion greatly inclined to the horizontal or riser connected to a pipe carrying circulating multiphase fluids such as hydrocarbons. Flow rate control is essentially obtained by injecting, at the base of the riser, a volume of gas proportional to the flow rate variation with time of the gas phase of the circulating fluids, and preferably substantially equal thereto, when this variation is positive. This action can be completed by modulating the injected gas flow by a quantity proportional to the flow rate variation of the liquid phase of the circulating fluids.

  • Patent number: 5949049
Abstract: An inventory control system includes an inventory control probe, inventory control module, a docking station, a collar clip, and an inventory control collar used on a storage container. The inventory control collar includes a first conductive ring exposed on the top of the collar electrically connected to a memory and a second conductive ring exposed on the top of the collar and electrically connected to the memory. The inventory control probe includes a probe tip and a first pair of contact pins disposed on the probe tip at a predetermined distance apart such that the contacts concurrently contact the conductive rings of the inventory control collar. A probe body housing is connected at a first end to the probe tip, and a pair of data transfer terminal contacts are disposed on a bottom portion of the probe body housing. A handle is connected at a second end to the probe body housing.

  • Patent number: 5872449
Abstract: A multi-sided, integrated circuit die includes a plurality of read only memory (ROM) circuits, positioned only at the corners of the die, to simplify qualification testing of new package designs. During qualification testing, electrical and environmental stresses are applied to the package and die combination. The package and die are electronically evaluated at predetermined intervals to determine whether a failure has occurred during testing. When a failure occurs during testing, the package and die are diagnosed to isolate and determine the cause or source of the failure. Package design parameters are adjusted accordingly to reduce or eliminate the occurrence of the failures. An optional 12-bit counter is fabricated onto the die for each ROM circuit to exercise the ROM during qualification testing. An optional process monitor is also fabricated onto the die for each ROM circuit to determine the strength of the fabrication process and the resulting quality of circuit elements produced therefrom.
