  • Patent number: 8530032
Abstract: There is provided a seal for covering a hole in a disk drive housing. The seal includes a conductive layer, a primary dielectric layer, and a gasket layer. The conductive layer has a covered surface region and an exposed planar surface region. The exposed planar surface region is lacking a dielectric coating disposed thereon. The primary dielectric layer includes an adhesive coating disposed between the primary dielectric layer and the covered surface region. The gasket layer includes first and second adhesive gasket layer sides and a gasket opening disposed through the gasket layer.

  • Patent number: 8451578
Abstract: A hard drive particle cleaning system includes an air source, an ionizer module coupled to the air source via upstream tubing, a mechanical shock system configured to secure a hard drive and apply a mechanical shock to the hard drive to dislodge particles inside the hard drive, and an exhaust system. The ionizer module includes a shell and an inlet nozzle arranged in a first end of the shell and coupled to the upstream tubing for supplying a stream of air from the air source into the shell.

  • Patent number: 7900272
Abstract: A static control garment may be worn by a user. The garment includes first and second conductive portions, a first user interface for electrically coupling the first conductive portion to the user, a second user interface for electrically coupling the second conductive portion to the user, and an insulative portion coupled to, and separating the first and second conductive portions. Preferably, the first and second conductive portions comprise substantially the same amount of conductive material.

  • Patent number: 7869182
Abstract: A method is disclosed for monitoring a user wearing a static electricity garment. The garment comprises a first conductive upper body portion including a first electrical interface, a second conductive upper body portion including a second electrical interface, a first user interface for electrically coupling the first conductive upper body portion to a first upper limb of the user, a second user interface for electrically coupling the second conductive upper body portion to a second upper limb of the user, and an insulative portion for electrically insulating the first conductive upper body portion from the second conductive upper body portion. To monitor the static electricity, the user touches the first electrical interface to a first lead of a monitoring device and touches the second electrical interface to a second lead of the monitoring device.

  • Patent number: 7671599
Abstract: A static electricity monitor is disclosed operable to test a garment worn by a person, the garment comprising a first piece of footwear worn on a first foot of the person. The static electricity monitor comprises a first footpad electrode having a length of at least one meter, and a first handrail electrode running generally parallel to the first footpad electrode. The static electricity monitor further comprises control circuitry coupled to the first footpad electrode and the first handrail electrode, and operable to determine if the garment worn by the person passes a soundness test by taking a measurement as the person walks the first piece of footwear along the first footpad electrode while contacting a first hand to the first handrail electrode.
