Abstract: A combined terrestrial wave/cable broadcast receiver is disclosed which identifies if a cable broadcast program being carried and received or a cable broadcast program to be received is a HD broadcast and receives a HD broadcast from a terrestrial wave broadcasting station in the form of a HD terrestrial wave broadcast automatically or according to a user's selection, and a program information processing method therefor which processes program information such that it can identify a cable broadcast program as a HD broadcast in an EIT.

Abstract: A method for receiving an identical broadcasting program automatically searches broadcasting channels to which an identical broadcasting program corresponding to a program of the channel selected by a user is transmitted from multiplex broadcasting media in case the broadcasting signals are poor or the broadcasting signals have high sound quality or picture quality while the user transmits a broadcasting program through a medium so that the user can watch the identical broadcasting program continuously. In order to achieve this, the present invention searches and outputs a broadcasting program identical to the multiplex broadcasting program from multiplex broadcasting media on the basis of a source ID of the broadcasting program received from broadcasting media.

Abstract: A signal transmission method and apparatus is to provide results of user inputs such as changing setting of appliances transmitting digital AV contents as real-time and by a more precise method. To achieve the object, there is provided a method for transmitting the digital AV contents and OSD by connecting a signal output apparatus 100 and a signal input apparatus 200 comprising a process of identifying whether OSD display mode is set or not, a process of judging whether the volume of OSD is larger than a certain volume if the OSD display mode is set, and a process of transmitting the OSD through an analog connect if the volume of the OSD is larger than a certain volume.

Abstract: An open cable set-top box diagnosing system in which a point of deployment (POD), separated from a main circuit unit, having a newly defined interface is used to check an operation state of an open cable set-top box, transmits the checked state to a predetermined server, according to which the operation state of the open cable set-top box is diagnosed. The open cable set-top box diagnosing system includes an open cable set-top box 400B for checking its own operation state by using a diagnosis resource by a communication protocol between a point of deployment (POD) separated from the main circuit unit and the main circuit, and a head end 400A for providing a service corresponding to a request signal received from the open cable set-top box 400B or providing a broadcast program to the open cable set-top box, and checking the operation state of the open cable set-top box.
