  • Publication number: 20060259369
Abstract: A method and system that allows an on-line shopper to be assigned a queue number for each department in a store is presented. Each time the shopper's number comes up in a queue in a specific store department, a real-time audio/video session is initiated between the shopper and a personal assistant who is physically located in that specific department. Thus, the shopper is able to seamlessly and instantly move from department to department with minimal waiting down-time.

  • Publication number: 20060145880
Abstract: A method and system is disclosed for enabling quantities of bulk-type products to be determined using RFID tags that can also be used to determine the existence of product or packaging containing RFID tags. Packaging and/or containers for the bulk products are configured so that the RFID tags contained thereon provide an indication of an approximate relative quantity of the bulk material. More specifically, the position and/or shielded or unshielded state of RFID tags are utilized to identify a quantity of the bulk-type material.

  • Publication number: 20060007191
Abstract: A display system is disclosed. The display system includes a base, a screen movably coupled to the base, and a control unit coupled to the screen. The control unit adjusts the screen to a position based on at least one condition. The at least one condition can be an attribute such as a height or an eye position. According to the system and method disclosed herein, the display system increases the convenience of a user by automatically adjusting the screen to an optimal position for the user. As a result, improved readability of the screen is achieved while simplifying the use of the display system.

  • Publication number: 20050275634
Abstract: An improved resistive touch panel is disclosed. The improved resistive touch panel includes a first plurality of stripes of a resistive coating on a front sheet running in a first direction and a second plurality of stripes of a resistive coating on a back sheet running in a second direction. The overlapping regions between the first and second plurality of stripes are scanned by a controller circuit to detect voltage drops at these regions. Because the overlapping regions are independent of each other, the controller circuit is able to detect the individual regions involved in the touch area. In this manner, the controller circuit is able to determine between small and large areas of contact by detecting adjacent contact areas.

  • Publication number: 20050254877
Abstract: A document feeder device is disclosed. The document feeder device includes a frame, a first roller shaft coupled to the frame, and a second roller shaft coupled to the frame. The first shaft is cantilevered. The document feeder device further includes a bearing coupled to the first roller shaft. The bearing has an eccentric shape and the eccentric shape allows the bearing to be rotated such that the position of the first roller shaft stays parallel to a second roller shaft. As a result, rollers attached to the first and second roller shafts are kept aligned so that they reliably feed documents through a printer. The document feeder device decreases production costs by eliminating the need for additional frame hardware and/or more rigid frame hardware.

  • Publication number: 20050031396
Abstract: A document feeder device is disclosed. The document feeder device includes a frame and at least one cantilevered roller shaft for advancing a document, where an unsupported end of the at least one cantilevered roller shaft floats. The document feeder device eliminates the need for a rigid frame to support the unsupported end. This decreases the cost of production by eliminating the need for additional frame hardware and/or more rigid frame hardware. The document feeder device can be implemented in existing designs.
