Abstract: An image display device includes a display configured to display a plurality of items and a cursor indicating a location of an input; input receiving circuitry configured to receive an input for moving the cursor; and a controller configured to control the cursor to move in accordance with the received input, to control items adjacent to the cursor to be set as candidate items if the cursor stops moving, and to control guidelines to be displayed on the candidate items, wherein in response to an input of a direction key while the focus is displayed on the first candidate item, and wherein the controller is further configured to control the focus to move to a second candidate item among the candidate items corresponding to the input of the direction key if the input of the direction key corresponds to a short press and to control the cursor to move in a direction corresponding to the input of the direction key if the input of the direction key corresponds to a long press.
