    Abstract: The present invention provides a terminal for collecting traffic information generates a data set, including information about a measurement start point and a travel locus, periodically measured for a predetermined period from the start point, using DR information based on DR and GPS information, and transmits the data set to a remote traffic information center. The start point includes a vehicle ID, and absolute coordinates and an absolute time at the start point, and the travel locus information includes relative coordinates of each measurement location with respect to a previous measurement location. A method for generating traffic information in a remote traffic information center using information collected from the terminal is also provided.
