Abstract: Devices and methods for treating obstructive sleep apnea, habitual mouth breathing, and/or myofunctional therapy includes a body including an anterior end, a posterior end, and lateral portions shaped for introduction into a subject's oral cavity to position the anterior end adjacent front teeth of the subject and the posterior end adjacent the pharyngeal airway of the subject with or without the posterior end adjacent the pharyngeal airway. Sensors and/or stimulators may be provided, to generate electrical current, chemical release, vibration, and/or other stimulations, e.g., to activate neuromuscular contraction, stimulate salivation and subsequent swallowing movement, and/or induce partial wakefulness of the subject and/or to record data regarding the subject's tongue movements and/or position.

Abstract: Devices and methods are provided for treating infant treating congenital oral defects or conditions, e.g., as an infant grows. In one example, an oral appliance is formed that includes a palatal plate sized for an individual infant, a curved pharyngeal extension extending from a posterior region of the palatal plate, and a screw mechanism that allows side portions of the palatal plate to move away from one another to increase a size of the device, which allows a single device to treat the infant as they grow. In another example, a series of oral appliances may be formed including a first appliance based on the individual infant's initial anatomy and one or more additional appliances sized based on predictive projection of growth of the infant.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a mandibular advancement device for preventing sleep apnea that moves a mandible forward to prevent sleep apnea. The mandibular advancement device includes: a first hook to which a first end of an elastic member providing a mandible traction force for advancing the mandible can be connected and that supports the elastic member; an upper frame that can be mounted on upper teeth to distribute a traction support force, which is applied to the first hook by the elastic member, to a maxilla; a second hook to which a second end of the elastic member can be connected and that transmits the mandible traction force applied by the elastic member to the mandible at a distal location in comparison to the first hook; and a lower frame that can be mounted on lower teeth under the upper frame to distribute the mandible traction force, which is applied to the second hook, to the mandible.
