The fruit extracts of Elaeagnus multiflora Thunb. according to the present invention inhibited the production of 5-alpha reductase-2, prostate-specific antigen (PSA), and 5-alpha-reductase-2 in vitro, and also suppressed the enlargement of prostate tissues and the contents of 5-alpha reductase and prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in a testosterone-induced prostatic hyperplasia rat model, thereby enhancing the excellent effect of preventing or suppressing prostatic hyperplasia even in animal models, and thus have industrial applicability.
