  • Patent number: 5941739
Abstract: An electrical connection system for electrically connecting a full erase head assembly to a power source in a video cassette recorder includes a main printed circuit board having a terminal connected to the power source, conductive connecting members for electrically connecting the full erase head assembly to the terminal, and a base for fixing the full erase head assembly to the deck, the base having at least a connecting hole for permitting the conductive connecting members to reach the terminal. The connecting members may comprise conductive and elastic springs.

  • Patent number: 5927631
Abstract: A video cassette recorder is equipped with a tape tension adjusting device which includes a tension lever having a tension pole coming into contact with a tape and rotatably mounted on the deck to be biased toward the tape by a torsion spring, and an eccentric cam having a cylindrical body and a shaft eccentrically extending from the cylindrical body and rotatably mounted on the deck through the shaft. One end of the torsion spring comes into contact with the pressed piece and the other end thereof comes into contact with the cylindrical body of the eccentric cam in such a way that the pressing force of the tension pole against the tape changes with the eccentric cam.

  • Patent number: 5833157
Abstract: A tape tension adjusting device for use in a video cassette recorder includes a tension lever rotatably mounted on a deck to be biased toward the tape by a spring and having a tension pole coming into contact with the tape, a band holder mounted on the tension lever and having a first fixing portion which is of a cylindrical shape and a second fixing portion which is substantially a semicircle, the first fixing portion having a smaller diameter than that of the second fixing portion, and a band brake retained around the supply reel, for exerting a braking force on the supply reel. One end of the band brake is fixed to the first fixing portion of the band holder and the other thereof is fixed to the second fixing portion of the band holder, thereby controlling a rotating speed of the supply reel and adjusting tape tension.

  • Patent number: 5816520
Abstract: The reel brake apparatus for a VCR has a releasing shaft and a mode plate for driving the releasing shaft. The releasing shaft is movably mounted on a main base, and the mode plate has a recess part which is recessed from a plane part thereof. The mode plate is movably disposed along a planar direction thereof. When a cassette is loaded in the VCR, the releasing shaft is inserted into the cassette. A locking device in the cassette is driven by the inserted releasing shaft, so reel hubs in the cassette are released. If the operating mode of the VCR is converted to a stop mode or an eject mode during the running of the tape, the mode plate is moved so that the releasing shaft may be accommodated in the recess part. Accordingly, the releasing shaft is detached from the cassette to lock the reel hubs.

  • Patent number: 5769356
Abstract: A tape guide structure, for use in a video cassette recorder ("VCR") into which a tape cassette is loaded, comprises a guide post and a post cap. The guide post is provided with a lower cylindrical portion and an upper cylindrical portion with a diameter less than that of the lower portion. The guide post is fixed to a deck. The post cap is provided with a head portion with a slant surface and is fixed on top of the guide post. According to the tape guide structure of the present invention, even though the tape cassette is loaded into the VCR with the tape loosened to the extend that it passes over the central axis of the guide post, the tape comes in contact with the slant surface of the head portion, thereby allowing the tape to be loaded into a correct position.
