  • Publication number: 20100217003
Abstract: Provided are 7-hydroxy-6-methoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline derivatives and synthesis methods thereof. The compounds significantly inhibit the production of nitrogen monoxide (NO) and superoxide in an activated microglial cell and expressions of TNF-?, IL-1? inducive NO synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 genes. They also prevent NF-kB shift to a nucleus, decrease reactive oxygen species (ROS), inhibit expression of GTP cyclohydrolase I gene and over-production of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4), and protect dopaminergic neurons from injury due to activated microglial cells. Consequently, the compounds are effective in treating inflammatory and neurodegenerative diseases.

  • Publication number: 20100043029
Abstract: A broadcasting processing apparatus and method which performs a search or reservation with regard to a future broadcasting program that is not yet stored in electronic program guide (EPG) data. The broadcasting processing apparatus includes a signal processor which processes a broadcasting signal including EPG data; and a controller which searches the EPG data to determine whether data corresponding to a broadcasting program is currently included in the EPG data, and performs a set reservation function with respect to the broadcasting program if it is determined that the data corresponding to the broadcasting program is currently included in the EPG data, and if the controller determines that the data corresponding a broadcasting program is not currently included in the EPG data, the controller repeatedly searches the EPG data at periodic intervals to determine whether the data corresponding the broadcasting program is included in the EPG data which is updated.

  • Publication number: 20030061609
Abstract: A TV for displaying EPG information in an improved manner, and a method for using the same. The TV includes a storage unit adapted to store a received EPG information, a display unit adapted to display the EPG information, an input unit adapted to input a selection command regarding a predetermined channel among receivable channels, and a controller adapted to control the storage unit to store the EPG information among received broadcasting signals, and to control the display unit to display the stored EPG information. Specifically, the controller controls the display unit to display the EPG information with respect to the channel selected by the selection command and a list of channels that can be selected by the user on the display unit on a single screen. Moreover, channels that are not currently displayed on the screen and time information that is not currently displayed in selected channels can be displayed on the screen by using up/down scroll bars.
