    Abstract: An electrode assembly comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator. The positive electrode and the negative electrode each comprise coating portions coated with an electrode active material and non-coating portions not coated with an electrode active material. The positive electrode or the negative electrode has a zigzag shape formed by bending a rectangular sheet in which the coating portions and the non-coating portions are alternately formed. The other electrode of the positive electrode and the negative electrode has a folder shape formed by bending a sheet in which the non-coating portions is interposed between two of the coating portions. The non-coating portions of the zigzag-shaped electrodes form electrode tabs facing in opposing directions. The non-coating portions of the folder-shaped electrodes form electrode tabs facing in one direction and arranged perpendicular to the electrode tabs formed in the opposing directions.
