    Abstract: A multi-unit air conditioner has a compressor for compressing refrigerant, an outdoor heat-exchanger for receiving compressed refrigerant from the compressor, and a plurality of indoor heat-exchangers connected in parallel with the outdoor heat-exchanger for receiving heat-exchanged refrigerant therefrom. A by-pass section is provided for returning some of the refrigerant from the outdoor heat-exchanger back to the compressor inlet when one of the indoor heat-exchangers is inactive, to restrict the amount of refrigerant supplied to the active indoor heat exchanger.
