  • Patent number: 7832303
Abstract: An automatic transmission includes a gear lever mounted at the interior of a vehicle, a manual control lever connected to the gear lever via a gear cable, a position detecting unit for detecting the position of the manual control lever when a gear-shifting operation is performed, and a position fixing unit disposed between the manual control lever and the position detecting unit for fixing the manual control lever at an assembly reference position. The manual control lever is fixed at the assembly reference position by the position fixing unit. As a result, the manual control lever is not directly fixed to the position detecting unit, and therefore, there is no necessity for moving the position detecting unit. Consequently, interference between the manual control lever and other components is prevented, and the manual control lever is easily assembled.

  • Patent number: 7048673
Abstract: A shift control method for a gearset with greater than or equal to 5 speeds, allowing to perform a sequential shift and a multi-skip shift in relation to the multi-shift stages, contributing to an improved response during shifting. The shift control method comprises steps of performing a preceding shift control when disengagement components of a preceding shift stage and a final target shift stage are identical during skip shifting, then executing a one-stage skip control toward the final target shift stage if a certain set of required conditions are satisfied; and standing by for a predetermined time period without performing the preceding shift control when the disengagement components of the preceding shift stage and the final target shift stage are different during skip shifting, then performing a one-stage skip control toward the final target shift stage only if pertinent conditions are met.

  • Patent number: 6675079
Abstract: A fault diagnosis method is provided in which it is possible to determine whether the input shaft speed sensor of the automatic transmission is faulty by using the signals of the output shaft speed sensor, the brake switch, the engine speed sensor and so on, without making use of the signal of the vehicle speed sensor. Moreover, even if there are faults in the output shaft speed sensor or if the shift lever is positioned in the parking P range or the neutral N range, or if the engine speed is lower than the stall speed, the fault diagnosis method for the input shaft speed sensor can be performed, and additionally, a possibility of a misjudgment caused by a bad N-D hydraulic pressure response at an extremely low temperature can be removed.
