  • Patent number: 7670772
Abstract: Provided are a microfluidic chip for multiple bioassay and a method of manufacturing the same. The method includes: forming microfluidic channels by coupling a channel structure having grooves for sample channels and probe channels in a bottom surface and a substrate; forming probe immobilization regions at intersections between the probe channels and the sample channels; and forming blocking walls in the probe channels before and after each of the probe immobilization regions to prevent mixing of target sample. Since the probes are immobilized in the microfluidic channels after the formation of the microfluidic channels, difficulty in connecting fluidic channels after the immobilization of probes on a substrate can be removed. In addition, a microfluidic platform for a multiple bioassay into which a plurality of samples can be simultaneously loaded can be formed.

  • Patent number: 7659064
Abstract: A PNA zip-code chip in which PNA zip-code probes are immobilized on a substrate at high density using an epoxy compound as a linker, and method for fabricating such PNA chip. The use of PNA provides the chip with superior properties to DNA chips, allowing precise diagnosis of congenital diseases or base mutations with much higher sensitivity than is achievable with a DNA chip. The use of the PNA zip-code chip enables diagnosis of gene mutations in a simple manner, using only hybridization reaction, without the difficulties associated with processes in which probes must be immobilized directly on a substrate every time the target gene changes.

  • Publication number: 20090047488
Abstract: The present invention relates to a counterfeit prevention paper and manufacturing method thereof, and more particularly to currency, securities, official document and several certificates, etc. The counterfeit prevention paper according to the present invention comprises a paper and a thermopaint layer which is formed on a paper and is discolored according to a temperature. The counterfeit prevention paper according to the present invention can detect easily a counterfeit by an unaided eye. Also, a function for preventing a counterfeit is not copied by a counterfeit device, thus the counterfeit prevent paper according to the present invention can improve a reliability of various official documents and several certificates, etc.

  • Patent number: 6989102
Abstract: An alginate gel adsorbent to remove heavy metal ions according to the present invention is prepared by adding dropwisely 0.1-5 wt % alginate solution to a polyvalent cationic solution thereby cross-linking alginic acid with polyvalent cations. An alginate gel adsorbent containing activated carbon capable of simultaneously removing heavy metal ions and organotoxic materials, that is, activated carbon/alginate gel adsorbent, is prepared by adding dropwisely a mixed solution of 0.17-10 wt % of alginate and 0.1-10 wt % of activated carbon powder to a polyvalent cationic solution thereby cross-linking alginic acid with polyvalent cations in order to immobilize polyvalent cation to alginic acid containing activated carbon. The polyvalent cationic solution is selected from the group consisting of calcium chloride (CaCl2), strontium chloride (SrCl2), barium chloride (BaCl2) and aluminium chloride (AlCl3).

  • Patent number: 6548667
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel sulfonamide derivative of general formula (I) useful as an inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP), its isomers, pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and a process for preparing the same. Since the sulfonamide derivatives of the present invention selectively inhibit MMP activity in vitro, the MMP inhibitors comprising the sulfonamide derivatives as an effective ingredient can be practically applied for the prevention and treatment of all sorts of diseases caused by overexpression and overactivation of MMP.
