    Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display unit which includes a plurality of pixels having an organic light emitting diode (OLED), a power supply which supplies power to the display unit, an image processor which processes an input image to display an image on the display unit, and a controller which determines whether an average picture level (APL) of the input image is a predetermined value or more. Based on the APL value, the controller controls the image processor to compensate for a gray scale of the input image to thereby increase a brightness of the input image, and controls the power supply to reduce the power supply corresponding to the brightness increased as a result of the compensated gray scale.
