    Abstract: A semiconductor device and a method for fabricating the same are provided which can increase the effective channel area and maintain a transistor characteristic. Since the semiconductor device comprises a recess filled with a gate spacer, a gate threshold voltage can be maintained even though the ion-implanting concentration of the active region is not uniform. The semiconductor device comprises: a device isolation film that defines an active region formed over a semiconductor substrate; a line-type recess with a given depth formed to be extended along a first direction to intersect at the active region; and a gate formed to be extended along a second direction to intersect at the active region, wherein a spacer including a high K material is disposed at sidewalls.

    Abstract: A hot blast heater capable of heating air using solar energy and providing hot air for daily life is provided. The hot blast heater includes a chamber, a lifting part, a control part and a pump. The chamber is configured to form an accommodation space to accommodate air, has an inlet/an outlet which are formed through a lower part and an upper part of the chamber, respectively, such that indoor air is received through the inlet and air inside the chamber is discharged through the outlet, and is formed using light passing material or thermal conductive material. The lifting part is installed lengthwise along two facing sides of the window to lift the chamber such that the air inside the chamber is heated through sunlight or solar heat introduced through the window. The control part controls operations of the lifting part. The pump is installed at the outlet of the chamber to forcedly discharge the heated air inside the chamber to an indoor space.

The semiconductor device includes a semiconductor substrate including an active region defined by a device isolation film, a trench formed in the device isolation film and the active region, a gate electrode formed at the bottom of the trench, and a high dielectric material layer formed not only over the top of the gate electrode but also over a surface of the trench. As a result, although the gate electrode does not overlap with the junction region, the semiconductor device prevents channel resistance from being increased, resulting in an increase in semiconductor device characteristics.

    Abstract: A process for the selective oxidation of olefins to epoxides comprising the step of contacting the olefin (propylene or ethylene) with an oxidant (hydrogen peroxide) in the presence of a Lewis acid oxidation catalyst (MTO), organic base (pyridine or its N-oxide), in a solvent system comprising an organic water-miscible solvent (methanol). The system is pressurized using either the olefin itself or by adding an inert pressurizing gas (nitrogen) to increase the pressure between 230 and 700 psi at a temperature between 0.7 and 1.3 times the critical temperature of the olefin. The resulting increased solubility of the olefin in the organic solvent system increases the selectivity and yield of the desired epoxide (propylene oxide or ethylene oxide).
