The portable terminal includes: a memory for storing at least one user function; a display unit for outputting screen information according to an activation of the at least one user function; an input unit for generating an input signal corresponding to a function call for creating a memo in a state that a screen according to the activation of the user function is output; and a controller performing a control operation to tag activation information of the user function including at least one of screen information, audio information, or user function information that is output according to the activation of the user function to the created memo and to store a tagged memo as a tagging memo.

Abstract: Methods and mobile devices for providing various eco-friendly User Interfaces (UIs) are provided. In one method for providing the eco-friendly UI, the mobile device measures a recharging amount or time, displays the recharging amount or time, and determines whether the recharging amount or time is more than a predefined critical amount or time. If the recharging amount or time is more than the critical amount or time, the mobile device is transitioned into an executable state of a specific application. This may give a user motivation to use a solar charge system and thereby reduce battery consumption of the mobile device.

Abstract: A method for a gesture-based function control for an electronic device having a touch-based input interface such as a touch screen is provided. While a selected mode is performed, a gesture launcher mode is activated in response to a user's request through a special function key or a multi-touch interaction. When receiving a user's gestural input in the gesture launcher mode, the electronic device executes a particular function corresponding to the user's gestural input.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a location information-based scheduling service is disclosed. The method includes determining a meeting point or appointed place based on location information associated with a plurality of portable terminals. The method includes suggesting various routes and means to travel to the appointed place; and providing data content to a user of a first portable terminal until one or more users associated with the other portable terminals arrive at the appointed place. The appointed place can be determined based on a distance between all the portable terminals and/or their respective movement times. Users can share their expected arrival times and information regarding their current locations while traveling towards the appointed place. If a portable terminal user requests a content while waiting for other users to arrive, the surplus time can be calculated and available contents can be provided within the surplus time.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method that can control a location alarm in a portable terminal. The apparatus can operate in multiples modes. The apparatus can determine whether set location information exists, and can check if location information corresponding to a current location of the apparatus exists. The apparatus can also determine whether the current location information corresponds to the set location information and may output an alarm if the current location information corresponds to the set location information.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system to provide service information to a portable terminal based on the location information associated with the portable terminal. The service information providing method is performed in such a way that a server acquires location information associated with the portable terminal and service information corresponding to the location information. The portable terminal may acquire and store the service information from the server. The portable terminal user can also identify new service information regarding a place where the user is located.
