  • Patent number: 7999763
Abstract: A plasma display apparatus is disclosed. In the plasma display apparatus, a data signal includes a voltage rising period during which the data signal gradually rises to a first voltage using an inductor, a voltage maintaining period during which the data signal is maintained at a second voltage higher than the first voltage, and a voltage falling period during which the data signal gradually falls to a voltage equal to or less than the second voltage. A magnitude of the first voltage is equal to or more than one half of a magnitude of the second voltage, and is less than the magnitude of the second voltage. A current flowing in the inductor ranges from zero ampere to a maximum current value of the inductor at a time when a voltage of the data signal is equal to the first voltage.

  • Patent number: 7920103
Abstract: The present invention relates to a plasma display apparatus, and more particularly, to a driving method thereof. The plasma display apparatus includes a panel comprised of a first substrate and a second substrate bonded to each other, a first electrode and a second electrode formed on the upper substrate, and a sustain driver for applying sustain pulses to the first and second electrodes, wherein the sustain driver applies a sustain voltage between the first and second electrodes, and floats at least one of the first and second electrodes after the completion of a sustain discharge caused by the sustain voltage. In the plasma display apparatus and the driving method thereof, according to the present invention, at least one of a scan electrode and a sustain electrode is floated for a predetermined time after the completion of the sustain discharge.

  • Patent number: 7839359
Abstract: Disclosed are a plasma display apparatus and a driving method thereof. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel having a plurality of address electrodes, a data driver, and a timing controller. The data driver supplies a plurality of data pulses to the plurality of the address electrodes and the timing controller controls a width of a first data pulse of the plurality of data pulses to be different from a width of a second data pulse of the plurality of data pulse.
