  • Patent number: 8597718
Abstract: An ultrathin film of calcium phosphate crystals having a thickness of 200 nm or less on a surface of a solid substrate, and a method for preparing the same are disclosed. Further, an amorphous dendritic extension used as an intermediate material in preparation of the ultrathin film of calcium phosphate and a method for forming the same are disclosed. The ultrathin film of calcium phosphate crystals can be coated on the surface of the solid substrate while substantially maintaining surface roughness of the solid substrate. The method employs calcium phosphate ion solutions at low temperature.

  • Publication number: 20090047432
Abstract: The present invention relates to the preparing methods of calcium phosphate ion solutions stabilized at a low temperature and calcium phosphate colloids which are made in the calcium phosphate ion solutions. The calcium phosphate colloids provide calcium phosphate dots, islands, or thin films by having them attached and grown on the solid surface, or calcium phosphate granules by having them grown in the solution.

  • Patent number: 6720023
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for preparation of the supersaturated calcium and phosphate ions solution and a method for preparation of the thin film of calcium phosphate crystal on solid surface by using the said solution. Particularly, the lowered temperature and/or the use of suitable buffer system inhibit the nucleation of calcium phosphate in aqueous solution, and thereby highly supersaturated calcium and phosphate ions solution can be prepared. And the thin film of calcium phosphate crystal on solid surface can be prepared with rapidity and good quality of high reactivity and low crystallinity by using the said solution. Also the thin film of calcium phosphate crystal prepared according to the present invention has biocompatibility and can be applied as biomaterials.

  • Patent number: 5691397
Abstract: The present invention is a process for first removing and isolating the calcium-phosphate crystals of bone from a substantial amount of the organic matrix and cellular constituents of bone without significant physical, chemical or structural alterations in the crystals. The crystals can then be further treated to remove the remaining amount of organic material associated with the crystals, leaving them essentially free of any of the organic constituents of bone, without significant physical, chemical or structural alterations in the crystals.

Date of Patent: November 25, 1997
    Assignee: Children's Medical Center Corporation
