Abstract: An electronic device and method are provided guiding image capturing based on property information of an external light source. The electronic device includes a camera, a display, and a processor. The processor is configured to obtain an image using the camera; identify a face included in the image; determine a first brightness value for a first region of the identified face and a second brightness value for a second region of the identified face; determine property information of an external light source for the identified face, based on the first brightness value and the second brightness value; and provide, through the display, guide information corresponding to the property information of the external light source for the identified face.

A setting indicating whether location-information sharing is activated is received for each application of the portable terminal that uses location information. The settings are transmitted to a server. An application for which location-information sharing is activated is executed. A request for sharing of location information with respect to the executed application is transmitted to the server. Location information of a portable terminal in which location-information sharing is activated for the executed application is received from the server. The received location information is processed through the executed application.

Abstract: A content tagging method of an electronic device includes requesting for content tagging, determining at least one or more of an association type, a contents identifier, a place identifier, and a current time according to the content tagging request, and creating a place tag including the determined at least one or more of the association type, the contents identifier, the place identifier, and the current time The method can give semantic location information, which is recognized and sorted by a user, to contents and can utilize the semantic location information for contents management.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing an advertising service in a portable terminal are provided. The apparatus includes an attribute information confirmation unit for sorting attribute information based on a priority of each piece of the attribute information by acquiring landmark information and then, by recognizing attribute information in which information to be used to determine a user preferences is written; a request information determination unit for recognizing a user-preferred advertisement by using information written in the sorted attribute information; and a controller for controlling the attribute information confirmation unit and the request information determination unit to receive the user-preferred advertisement.
