The attachment portion has at least one projection, which is meltable.

Abstract: A drum washing machine including a water tub, a rotary tub rotatably provided in the water tub, a detergent feed pipe having a first end connected to the water tub and a second end disposed at an inlet of the rotary tub, and a detergent feed unit to feed a detergent contained in the water tub into the rotary tub through the detergent feed pipe, wherein the detergent feed unit dissolves the detergent before feeding the detergent into the rotary tub in response to the detergent being a powdered detergent.

The push button includes a control panel having a seat depression and a switch controlling a function. A button unit is seated in the seat depression so as to be movable by a predetermined distance. A push unit passes through the seat depression and moves by a force transmitted from the button unit to push the switch. The push button also has first and second springs having different spring constants. When a normal external force is applied, the second having a smaller spring constant, is elastically compressed to turn the switch on or off. When an excessive external force is applied, the first and second springs are elastically compressed to absorb external force, thus preventing components, such as the switch, from being damaged or broken.

Abstract: A washing machine and method of controlling the washing machine. The washing machine includes a fixed tub, a rotating tub, a detergent dispenser and a control unit. The detergent dispenser contains a detergent, receives a preset quantity of washing water and allows the detergent to be dissolved therein, thus forming a liquid detergent. The control unit controls the liquid detergent contained in the detergent dispenser to be sprayed on laundry in the rotating tub after a completion of direct supplying of a large amount of the washing water to one or more of the fixed tub and the rotating tub.
