Abstract: A method and apparatus for browsing a plurality of broadcast programs are provided. The method includes classifying a plurality of broadcast programs into one or more broadcast program groups with reference to electronic program guide (EPG) information or viewing records of a user regarding the broadcast programs, one-dimensionally arranging the broadcast programs so that the broadcast program groups are one-dimensionally arranged, displaying the broadcast programs and the broadcast program groups on a screen as a graphic image, and allowing the user to change a rule used for forming the broadcast program groups. Accordingly, it is possible to enable a user to effectively browse broadcast programs and to provide the user with a user interface customized for the user by using a simple one-dimensional input method and intuitively utilizing EPG information.

Abstract: A user interface for browsing content, a method of providing a user interface, and a content-browsing apparatus are provided. The method includes dividing a plurality of content into a number of content groups according to a clustering condition, and providing a user interface including a cell field that has a group cell having a subcell corresponding to content included in a content group determined by the clustering condition, the group cell corresponding to the content group, a selector that indicates the subcell, and preview information for the content corresponding to the subcell indicated by the selector.

Abstract: A method of browsing contents and an apparatus for browsing the same are provided. The method includes providing a plurality of characteristic vector types and a plurality of characteristic value types that correspond to a reference characteristic vector type selected from the plurality of characteristic vector types, and determining an arrangement order of preview information of contents according to a reference characteristic value type that is selected from the plurality of characteristic value types, and providing the preview information in the arrangement order.

More particularly, an apparatus and a method for managing a storage space through time-variant consumption estimation that estimates consumption of an entire storage space when a user instructs program editing, program recording or reserved recording, and so on. When there is a possibility that the estimated consumption exceeds a predetermined value, immediately providing a user with information indicating that the storage space is lacking. The apparatus includes a storage unit storing contents in the storage space, a consumption estimation unit estimating time-variant consumption of the storage space, a contents management unit deleting at least a portion of the contents or storing at least a portion of additionally input contents according to the estimation result, and an output unit outputting the deletion or storage result.

Abstract: A method for displaying broadcasting channel information in a digital broadcasting reception apparatus includes receiving and storing digital broadcasting program guidance data including image information for digital broadcasting programs; generating a broadcasting program list including image information for digital broadcasting programs according to channels when a request for broadcasting channel information is received from a user, by means of the digital broadcasting program guidance data; and displaying the broadcasting program list according to channels, which includes the image information. In the method, it is possible to provide users with graphic-based broadcasting channel information instead of text-based broadcasting channel information. In the method, broadcasting channel information is provided to users together with contents of preview dynamic images or still images for digital broadcasting programs, so that the users view image information for broadcasting programs in advance.

Abstract: A device and a method for displaying images are provided. The device includes an input unit, a frame searching unit, a thumbnail selection unit, and a video processing unit. The input unit receives a signal for moving an image playback location along a time axis by an interval from a current playback point of images being played back. The frame searching unit sets a skip section ranging from a skip start point to a skip end point, in response to the received signal. The thumbnail selection unit selects a plurality of thumbnail images existing in the skip section. The video processing unit displays the selected thumbnail images.

Abstract: A method of synchronizing broadcast contents between a broadcast recorder and a portable content player and an apparatus for the same are disclosed. The broadcast content synchronizing method includes obtaining metadata about broadcast contents stored in a portable content player from the portable content player; confirming a broadcast content that has already been reproduced among the broadcast contents stored in the portable content player by the obtained metadata; retrieving a broadcast content corresponding to the next installment of the confirmed broadcast content from recorded broadcast contents; and storing the retrieved broadcast content in the portable content player.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a caster-resistant surface laminate using a synthetic resin and a flooring comprising the surface laminate. The surface laminate utilizes buffering properties of a synthetic resin layer, thus minimizing damage to the surface of the flooring. The surface laminate uses a resin selected from PVC, PE, PET, PETG, PCTG and PU in order to enhance the caster resistance, impact resistance and water resistance. As a result, the surface laminate has improved physical properties without occurrence of damage, such as hollowing and breakage, caused by external impacts, as compared to conventional surface laminates. In addition, the caster-resistant surface laminate attains interior decorative effects by coloration of the synthetic resin layer.

The method comprises the steps of transmitting a data communication command signal to the mobile terminal through a high speed USB communication protocol and detecting whether the mobile terminal is in a high speed USB communication mode according to a response signal of the mobile terminal, the mobile terminal having a communication mode that can be changed to a high speed USB communication mode according to a command signal.

Abstract: A refrigerant cycle system in which the arrangement of a connecting pipe for connection between a compressor and an accumulator is improved effectively to recover oil collected in the accumulator to the compressor. The accumulator is installed to be separate from the compressor. A connecting pipe is arranged between the compressor and the accumulator to feed a refrigerant gas separated in the accumulator to the compressor. An oil recovery hole is provided at an inlet portion of the connecting pipe received in the accumulator such that it is arranged at a level higher than a highest level portion of the connecting pipe located outside of the accumulator. A second accumulator may be connected between the connecting pipe and the compressor while being directly installed at the compressor. In this case, the connecting pipe has an outlet portion connected to the second accumulator.
