  • Patent number: 7062226
Abstract: A method for transmitting a signal from a base station transceiver system (BTS) to a base station controller (BSC) when there is no data transmitted from a mobile station while in discontinuous transmission (DTX) mode, in a mobile communication system. Upon detection of the discontinuous transmission mode, it is determined what type of frame was last transmitted from the mobile station, and the present power control information is set according to the type of frame. Thereafter, the base station transceiver system transmits a reverse message including the present power control information to the base station controller over a dedicated control channel. If there is data being transmitted between the mobile station and the base station transceiver system at the time where the discontinuous transmission mode is detected, the previous power control information is set to the present power control information.

  • Publication number: 20060120271
Abstract: A gap filler apparatus providing cyclic delay diversity in a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) system. In the gap filler apparatus, a receiver receives an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal transmitted as a broadcasting signal. A symbol synchronization unit acquires symbol synchronization of the OFDM signal, detects a guard interval of an OFDM symbol using the symbol synchronization, determines a sample length, by which the OFDM symbol is cyclic-delayed within the guard interval, and cyclic-delays the OFDM signal by the determined sample length. An amplifier amplifies the cyclic-delayed OFDM signal. A transmitter transmits the amplified OFDM signal to a wireless network.

  • Publication number: 20060113580
Abstract: In a capacitor having a high dielectric constant, the capacitor includes a cylindrical lower electrode, a dielectric layer and an upper electrode. A metal oxide layer is formed on inner, top and outer surfaces of the lower electrode as the dielectric layer. A first sub-electrode is formed on a surface of the dielectric layer along the profile of the lower electrode and a second sub-electrode is continuously formed on the first sub-electrode corresponding to the top surface of the lower electrode, so an opening portion of the lower electrode is covered with the second sub-electrode. The first and second sub-electrodes include first and second metal nitride layers in which first and second stresses are applied, respectively. Directions of the first and second stresses are opposite to each other. Accordingly, cracking is minimized in the upper electrode with the high dielectric constant, thereby reducing current leakage.

  • Publication number: 20060109719
Abstract: In an embodiment, an improved charge pump circuit is provided to control a threshold voltage increase of a charge transmission transistor during a charge transfer period, and to prevent a latch-up generation during a charge non-transfer period. A charge transmission transistor transmits the voltage of a boosting node to a high voltage generation terminal in response to the voltage of a control node. In a bulk connection switch, during the charge transfer period the high voltage generation terminal is connected to the bulk of the charge transmission transistor and during the charge non-transfer period the bulk is connected to the low voltage, being lower than that of the voltage appearing at the boosting node of the charge transmission transistor or the high voltage generation terminal. Charge transmission efficiency and pumping operation reliability are improved, increasing the reliability of data access operations in a semiconductor memory device, for example.

  • Publication number: 20060105709
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for transmitting and receiving high-speed packet data without path loss in a mobile communication system with a plurality of transmitting and receiving antennas. To support high-speed data for a mobile station (MS), a base station (BS) identifies a correlation between the number of transmitting antennas and the number of receiving antennas using feedback information and determines whether to establish a relay transmission scheme. The BS determines if quality of service for the MS is satisfied when the number of transmitting antennas is grater than the number of receiving antennas according to the established relay transmission scheme. When the quality of service for the MS is not satisfied, the BS transmits the high-speed data through a specific node group adjacent to the MS.
