Abstract: An image revising method, an image forming apparatus, and a method for revising image spreading are provided. The image revising method includes regulating a black color level in a black area of an input image; adjusting a color level of at least one other color excluding the black color in the black area; and revising the image by applying the regulated black color level and the adjusted color level of the at least one other color. Thus, in copying a document, the black color with the enhanced legibility can be serviced.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus, and a color table generating method and color document printing method of the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus includes a color matching unit to match colors of a color document containing one or more images formed with a preset number of colors with colors available in the image forming apparatus, and a color table generator to generate a color table using the matched colors. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the color change caused by a difference in the characteristics between a printer and a scanner.

Abstract: A scanning apparatus includes a lookup table generating unit to generate a multidimensional lookup table to convert input signals into standard signals, a minimum value computing unit to scan a white reference and compute minimum RGB values therefrom, a calibration region determining unit to establish a minimum size region in the lookup table that contains a background (BG) point where the computed minimum RGB values coincide, and a white point of the lookup table, and a calibrating unit to calibrate data values only in the established region to white values. Optimum color representation is provided, because only the white region is established and calibrated without influencing other color regions.

Abstract: An image processing method which changes a color image into a gray image, the image processing method including determining a plurality of representative colors, assigning gray values to the representative colors so that range variations between the gray values within a predetermined range are less than a predetermined value, and assigning a gray value to an arbitrary color of the color image according to a degree of similarity between the arbitrary color and the representative colors.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus printing a security document by duplex printing and a method thereof are provided. The image forming apparatus comprises a terminal device interface unit receiving a printing command for printing a printable code data from an exterior terminal device, a printing engine unit printing the code data onto a paper, and a control unit, if the printing command is for printing a security mark data on a rear page of the paper, controlling the printing engine unit to print the security mark data onto the rear page of the paper. Accordingly, the security mark is printed on the rear page of the paper so that the security document can be printed.

Abstract: A viewing angle adaptive brightness-correction method is provided, in which brightness of an image is adaptively corrected according to a viewing angle and the brightness-corrected image is displayed by an image display unit whose orientation angle is controllable, and an image forming apparatus using the same. The viewing angle adaptive brightness-correction displaying method includes detecting the orientation angle of the image display unit, brightness-correcting an input image according to the detected orientation angle, and displaying the brightness-corrected image on the image display unit. Accordingly, in an image display unit, such as an LCD having an angle adjustment function attached to a digital camera, a photo-printer and so on, a displayed image can be corrected according to the orientation angle of the LCD or a viewing angle to show the same image to a user for various viewing angles.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for creating a preview image of an object is provided. The apparatus includes an object type detecting unit for detecting an object to be previewed for determining whether the type of the object is text, graphics, and image, a color matching unit for converting a color signal of the detected object into an image forming color signal by using a color profile corresponding to the detected object according to the detection result of the object type detecting unit, and a preview image creating unit for creating and displaying a preview image for the object converted into the image forming color signal. Therefore, since the preview image is displayed on a monitor according to the type of object (text, graphics, or image), a user can predict the image forming result more accurately. Further, since the colors of objects can be adjusted, a printout with desired color characteristics can be obtained.

Abstract: A printing method and a printing system are provided where a printing property of the printing system is stored, a printing compatibility of a printing data of an object to be printed is determined by comparing a data property of the printing data with the stored printing property of the printing system, and the determined printing compatibility is displayed to a user. Accordingly, a printing system and a printing method, which are capable of preventing user inconvenience and waste of resources due to re-printing are provided.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for setting a color profile corresponding to a user's preferred color when a driver of an image forming apparatus is installed on a computer are provided. The method includes the steps of displaying a dialog box in which a user can input information regarding the user's preferred color when the driver of the image forming apparatus is installed on the computer, receiving the input information through the dialog box, and setting a color profile corresponding to the input information in the computer. Since a user interface in which a user can input his or her color preference is provided and thus the user's color preference can be obtained through the user interface, a color image can be reproduced according to the user's color preference.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing halftone by generating a first dot pattern corresponding to a first color and a second dot pattern corresponding to a second color for a video signal having at least two colors is provided. The method includes generating the first dot pattern by halftone processing the video signal using a first screen, and generating the second dot pattern by halftone processing the video signal using a second screen, which has a relationship of complement relative to the first screen.

Abstract: An apparatus and method to edit a color profile. The apparatus includes an input and output profile setting unit to select an output profile and an input profile to be used to edit the output profile, a color region designation unit to designate a predetermined color region to be displayed on a color coordinate system, a color adjustment unit to adjust color of the designated color region by rotating a color angle on the color coordinate system, and a profile generation unit to generate a color profile corresponding to the adjusted color to be used as the selected output profile. Therefore, color region information of a favorable color or memory color corresponding to a human race or country unit can be stored in a database, and the favorable color can then be edited by a color region unit.

Abstract: Disclosed are a color management method, an apparatus thereof and a color management computer program for executing the method that enable a user to conveniently and easily select and/or change colors desired by the user in diverse ways. The color management method includes displaying a color scheme list that is a list of color schemes for providing a standard for converting the colors that constitute an image, and if a selection manipulation of one among the color schemes that constitute the displayed color scheme list is input, storing the color scheme selected by the selection manipulation.

Abstract: A method and apparatus to generate a preview image. The method of generating the preview image includes classifying data input from an application program by data types, performing a color matching operation that converts a first color signal of the input data into a second color signal used in a printing device according to one or more rendering intents set for the classified data types, and generating the preview image of the input data for which the color matching operation is completed. The preview image is generated based on the color-matched data for the different classified data types. Thus, the preview image appears to be substantially the same image as a document that is printed by an image forming device.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing a new color chart is provided. In this method, first, a standard color chart is output using an image output unit. Then, a colorimetric value of the standard color chart output by the image output unit is detected. Then, a new color chart is produced by reconstructing the standard color chart using the colorimetric value. Accordingly, the new color chart enables a device-independent color space to have a uniform color distribution. Thus, an interpolation weight obtained from the device-independent color space is stable, and an error in a color image output by a printer or the like is minimized.

Devices and methods embodying the invention facilitate room temperature and high temperature testing within one device test handler to maximize testing efficiency. A test handler embodying the invention may include a pre-heater for pre-heating the devices on a loading shuttle as the loading shuttle passes to a test chamber. An indexing device in a test chamber of the device is used for successively transferring the devices from a loading shuttle to the test socket, and tested devices from the test socket to an unloading shuttle. Heat supply means may be provided for supplying a high temperature heat to the test chamber when the devices are required to be tested in a hot state.
